We decided to give this place a try when we moved my daughter into college in hopes of it being a taste of home. We are from Louisiana and was hoping for some Cajun food. We have to remember we are in the Midwest. The place was empty. The menu has way to much on it and a few things we tried to order they were out of. The boudin ball were dry, overcooked, and taste freezer burnt. The roast beef poboy was very greasy and the roux taste burnt and was spicy- kind of strange. The fried shrimp poboy was ok. Def not enough shrimp on it. Husband end up getting the philly when the few things he tried to order was unavailable. It took so long to get our food for being an empty restaurant. The one guy working seemed lost.
Was hoping we would like it so I could get my girl a gift card for when she misses momma's cooking, but we wouldn't recommend.

So-- if you want food with excellent flavor, and you don't want to spend half your paycheck? Hit Zyedco's! The food is great (be prepared for large portions!) and the interior is nicely decorated and comfortable.
The staff members are very efficient and friendly, and they get things done fast (even when the whole place is full).
Plus, it's near local grocery stores. So if you have shopping to do, it's a convenient place to stop.

This place is absolutely wonderful. It takes a bit to get your food so order an appetizer. We like the okra, yum. We have not been disappointed yet.
Kid-friendliness: We sat on the patio for lunch so our toddler could run. It is completely gated and the staff was wonderful to us.
