I have never left a review but when something doesn't seem right then it needs to be said. We had been at the BBQ and Blues and had walked around and enjoyed the shops, entertainment all day but wanted to sit and have a couple of drinks before our dinner reservations. We had made reservations for 6:30 and walked back to the Old Dutch and asked if we could sit at the bar until our reservations were ready. The hostess went to get the reservation sheet and told us we could not as the table was not ready. There were at least 5 empty seats at the bar. We were a little taken back with that and went up the street to another bar and had a couple of drinks. Then we came back and asked for our reservations, and she said our table was not quite ready and then offered the couple behind us a seat in the bar area. We had actually requested the bar area when we made the reservations the day before. There was plenty of seats in the bar area even after we insisted that we be seated before the other couple. That set the hostess off, and we think she was crying. Sorry common sense here we had already been sent away once which she probably didn't remember in the hour that she did that, but we were not happy. Then the medium well steak was burnt, and my wife had to cut the burnt outside off. She likes her steak medium but often it comes rare when she orders it that way so that's why she asked for Medium well. I will say that the hostess did a lot around the restaurant and maybe they are understaffed but they could have made another 60 to 100 bucks off of us on Saturday night because we would have had a couple of drinks and probably desert. We instead drank water and went to the BBQ fest and got a funnel cake instead. We had not been here since 2019 and always enjoyed eating there after a day of wondering around the area, but we will pass next time and try something else.

I came to Missouri to visit family and wasn't entirely sure where to stay. I found Old Dutch via Google. We were pleasantly surprised when we arrived, the pictures on the website are accurate, room and bathroom were very clean, and the area around the hotel was quiet. The staff was kind and caring and made sure our stay was pleasant. They are attached to the Old Dutch Tavern which we did not get a chance to visit due to not having a reservation. Overall great hotel, great location (minutes from town (Starbucks, Target, etc). Will definitely stay again.

There is some serious talent in the kitchen. We had a cheeseburger and sweet potato fries, and they were incredibly delicious. All that’s needed now is some Appleton’s rum.

Review is for the Tavern -- WOW WOW WOW WOW Husband and I dropped in for dinner. Food here is PHENOMENAL. I had the fried chicken and husband had the pork schnitzel. Both were excellent but the schnitzel was the real star. The fried chicken is a lighter batter and very crispy and perfectly done. The schnitzel was probably the best we have ever had. Fairly thick and juicy nicely seasoned. The gravy here is the real deal no clumpy instant stuff. You can tell they used a good stock to create a pan sauce. Service top notch. They also have a very nice selection of local craft beer.

Only went to the Tavern - don't know anything about the Hotel.
Great atmosphere in a small town. Eclectic menu with something for almost everyone. Enjoyed my meal, though the chicken was slightly dry. All other preparation was top notch.

Only visited the Tavern and our group had a great time.
It was a little busy with all the other patrons, so it took a little longer for food and drinks to arrive.
Overall, great service and tasty food.

Located in the heart of charming downtown Washington Missouri, you’ll find a warm and friendly place with fantastic food and genuine smiles. We ended up staying the night at the hotel and were pleasantly surprised at the cleanliness and character of the building and rooms. Everyone we met, from bartenders to check-in staff went out of their way to greet us with a warm smile.
