As someone who is health conscious... I am so glad they use tallow and are a more healthy fast food choice...

Basically, it was as basic as any other Steak n Shake. Nothing good, nothing bad to really say about this place. It was clean, but the service there was pretty slow with my order, I suppose but what more can you expect? It's a Steak n Shake.

Their proportions are getting smaller, and price goes up. At the kiosk it asks if you want to give a tip, for standing and typing in my order, and then clean your own table? One more thing the idea of having to put a QR code to get a drink feel like we can't be trusted. Used to be fine dining not anymore. Chilli proportion are ridicules, won't be eating there anymore.

Melissa is so super sweet and personable! I would go back just to talk with her, but the food is amazing as well as the atmosphere. We miss the waitressing but this place will always hold a special spot in my heart!

Dining in at this Steak 'n Shake (don't know about others) has become a sad, soulless experience. Orders are taken *only* at kiosks. Seat yourself. No table service. The only time we saw people was when someone put our order on a counter and called our number, and peeking into the kitchen.
The decor is white with retro neon lighting. This used to give the place a nice 50s vibe, but now without people it just seems cold. Use the drive-thru.
The food is okay, the same as it has been for years. The shakes are quite good, though. Half of our order was almost room temperature.

The staff was friendly when my Wife was having problems with a Bday gift milkshake, the manager took care of the problem right away and took care of us even in the middle of rush hour .

I almost wish I'd never walked in to witness what I saw on Saturday night December 14th. Place deserves zero stars. After 5 minutes at the actual drive up window then 10 minutes waiting at the pull forward and wait spot, I had to go in the "restaurant". If only I had taken in my phone to get pictures of what looked like the aftermath of a food fight. Completely disgusting. At which point I asked for my money back rather than "food" prepared from the floor. The drive thru girl had to cover her ear to hear me because someone in the kitchen was screaming. As I sat in the car waiting, 3 employees kept running out to one car and back in. Didn't appear to be a break as it was in and out several times only from 2-3 minutes. They apparently never made my order or gave it to the wrong person. While I waited for my refund, another customer brought her order in because it was wrong but wasn't mine. It was probably yet another customer's wrong order. I've eaten at that Steak and Shake, since it opened. Now. I wish I never had and certainly won't ever again. Place should be shut down. It is unimaginable that such people are allowed to work in such a nice town. If you care about your health, don't risk eating at Washington Missouri Sreak and Shake. Food all over floor, walls not cleaned. Employees jacking around. Not safe to eat! JL Washington Mo

Food was great and the atmosphere was clean. The hostess Melissa was super sweet and kind. She made me and my friend feel very welcome, checked up on us multiple times, and had a lovely conversation all while still busting her butt cleaning the dining area!
