We eat here often, and it never disappoints. The Block burger I ordered was very tasty!! If I hadn’t known it was a menu regular, I would think it was a chef special. The service was very fast and I love the aesthetic of the restaurant as well. It seems like every burger is carefully composed and the flavors go together really well. The Block salad and Fries were also very tasty. Everything tasted very fresh and delicious.
I always suggested this restaurant to friends for best burgers and steaks!!!

This place is delicious with more than friendly staff! Great local spot with great happy hour

I hope to return soon! The food and service was great!

The pretzels were steaming hot and the onion cheese was amazing. The cheese was cool and probably not heated through but it had a great flavor.

The Gnocchi special was extremely hot and very delicious.

The Butchers cut steak and fries were equally amazing. The steak was cooked per order and tender and juicy and perfectly seared. It was served over the steak sauce which gave the savory steak a hint of sweet - which paired up nicely.

The peach crisp and cinnamon ice cream was a great finish to the dinner.

They even made a drink for my wife that was not on the menu.

Service was great. Servers didn't hover but returned regularly to check on you. We got there ahead of the rush and though they got busy - they still came by to check on us.

A great place for a great dinner.

I would really love to give 4 or 5 stars. Service was great. However, upon leaving we were charged incorrectly for an entree even after mentioning it and my bread pudding I ordered to go was burnt. Literally inedible. Service and atmosphere were lovely though. I just don't know if I'd return. Whoever boxed the dessert should have known not to send out something of that quality. Unfortunately I'm at home now throwing away a dessert I was hoping to enjoy.

The atmosphere was very nice, I would wear jeans and a polo type shirt. The waiter was very nice we told him we were in a hurry to get to the Muny and he made sure to make sure our food was out quickly. The food was good, we had the burgers. I'll be back to try something else. 👍🏻

The Block is our favorite restaurant in the STL area without a doubt. This is probably my 8th time coming since moving to the area. It is one of the most consistent meals from beginning to end. Absolutely the best restaurant we have been to in STL. Love all the weekly specials. The line should be out the door daily. Highly highly recommend.

Block salad was good. The pork and dumplings was good, but sort of tasted like there was to much going on...not as cohesive with the different ingredients basically neutralizing any pork flavor. Sorry no photos I was hungry and dug in.

Great happy hour

Strolling by at 5pm there was an empty bar; no reservation needed and attentive service from the bartender. Decent selection of music at a reasonable volume. Just right for a solo dinner with a book.

The drinks were well concocted, fried sprouts, crispy chicken sandwich and fries were all quite tasty with the former stealing the show.

Was in for a five-star experience until a couple came in with their three (<12 years old) children and decided they should all sit at the bar while waiting for a table. The youngest repeated wanting "the blue one" over and over while the oldest spilled a full soda. Sure, it's an establishment for all but minors should be turned away from the bar seating.

A favorite of ours in Webster Groves and a wonderful place to gather with family and friends. Whether you want to stop and have a meal outside at a patio table, inside their beautiful dining room or sit at the bar for a quick drink and appetizer - The Block has it all. Their menu delicious and their chef always has amazing daily specials. This is one of those places during covid we ordered for pickup on a regular basis because we couldn't go without and the place i'll stop to get a contain of bacon jam (yes bacon jam) to ensure everyone is happy to see me when I arrive at a friends house.

We searched for a steakhouse in S5 Louis and found the block. With a butcher on site, it is the kind of place we wanted. Come to find out, there is not an actual selection of steaks. The "ribeye" that I got was thin and tough. I do not know what they used to season the steak, but it seems like a vegan did it. The other dishes that our members got were like an eclectic attempt at fancy food but were basically a KFC bowl of things, but the flavors did not go together. A well cooked, good quality steak should stand alone. It should not need to be covered in BBQ sauce. The 5 of us spent $250 for the experience with the tip.

Food was mixed. Steak (ribeye) was massively under-seasoned, lacking salt, pepper, and any option for flavored crust. Had some nice char without overcooking -- cooked to spec (medium rare). Steak sauce is served with, potentially on the steak by default (I opted for on the side) -- be forwarned. For the price, there's better options available locally, which is a shame. Meat was also not graded (or not disclosed) and didn't taste aged.

Beer cheese and pretzel was tasty.

Risotto (off menu item) was ok, but felt like too many flavors competing rather than harmonizing well.

Service was good when we had the servers attention, but they disappeared for long periods of time. Given that they weren't very busy as a restaurant, I'm assuming side jobs, but service suffered pretty badly for it. We also had a manager or possibly chef help out at our table occasionally. We still had to wait ~15 minutes for our check.
