Soulard Gyro (Wentzville) Reviews
Soulard Gyro has the best gyro I’ve ever had. Staff is always so welcoming and friendly. Music is great. Food is fantastic. I feel like my business is appreciated here and I’ll always support this place. Build one in St Charles please!
DO NOT EAT HERE THE OWNER IS COMMITTING FRAUD…! Multiple problems with my order (ordered 5 baklava and got zero, ordered the Cali Gyro no onions and had more onions than meat). Called and they wouldn’t refund but did offer to bring us the baklava and another sandwich. They came with only 4 baklava and the sandwich. Called and they said that they already gave us the other one when we picked it up. They hadn’t. The owner promised to call me today and didn’t. Spent over...read full review

Soulard Gyro in Wentzville has a history of good food and friendly staff, especially when it first opened. The gyros are flavorful, with well-seasoned, sliced meat and proper pita bread. The tzatziki sauce is garlicky and the onions are seasoned, making for a tasty meal. Customers appreciate that the food is always hot, fresh, and made to order, with some noting the Greek fries as a highlight. The quality of the gyros, including the sliced meat, has remained consistent, whether enjoyed dine-in or through delivery services like DoorDash.
However, over time, the restaurant has experienced a decline in cleanliness and service. The dining area and bathrooms are often dirty, with tables left uncleaned and floors not mopped regularly. Service can feel rushed and impersonal, and food that should be served in the restaurant is sometimes given in to-go containers, giving the impression that staff are more focused on closing tasks. Some reviews mention that these issues have been ongoing despite owner responses.
Pricing is considered high since gyros do not include sides, and the meat tends to be very salty. Some customers feel there are better options nearby for the price. Changes in food quality, such as less searing on the meat and shredded feta instead of crumbles, have also been noted, leading to disappointment for regular visitors. Despite the decline in ambiance and service, the food remains a good option for those seeking flavorful gyros.
