I've never just been over the top happy at Colton's. The steaks come out gray, never seem to be a good piece of meat. Not sure what's going on there. The rolls are good and the sweet tea is usually excellent. I just haven't found any food there that is worth writing home about. If I want a steak, I'll drive to Springfield or I'll cook it myself.

Good food at decent prices with great service.
Ordered the blackened salmon, fish and chips, and the onion blossom appetizer. The fish and chips was really good and the freshly made tartar sauce made it better. The onion blossom appetizer is seriously great, we liked it better than other similar battered onion options at competing restaurants. The salmon was our least favorite, the taste of salmon was muted at best; however, the raspberry chipotle sauce made the dish desirable albeit not because it tasted like salmon as the sauce overtook the little salmon taste that was present.
The “blackened salmon” was not done right, it was more freshly grilled than blackened. We politely notified our server who subsequently notified a manager. The manager checked in with us and we let him know of the issue and we said we were good with it as it was, we just wanted to let someone know of the error. The manager kindly comped our appetizer without us asking or demanding some sort of recompense, a very pleasant surprise when the bill came.

Each time we visit west plains we eat coltons. Yesterday being valentines day we decided of course to have dinner here. I fully appreciate your management staff that were running around handling all aspects of the business. I appreciate the waitress we had; She was so friendly and attentive. The hosts that were on their game with accuracy. The bust boys working fast to turn tables. The kitchen, they were kicking tickets out again with accuracy. And to any other staff I've forgotten. You were seen and appreciated. Thank you for being on point and having a wonderful staff.

Well I order a 29$ steak (which came out great by the way) upon the steak reaching my table the glass of milk I ordered with my meal didn’t arrive. Server asked if I want any steak sauce. I said sure Heinz 57 and my milk please. She returned with A-1 and no milk and then disappeared. Waited awhile for the milk….. went ahead and started eating. Had 2 baked potatoes with the meal. By the time she returned I had eaten the entire steak and one baked potato and was eating the second. Asked how everything was…. I said it’d be better if I had that glass of milk I asked for twice. But seeing as how I was 3-4 bites away from finishing the second potato it didn’t make sense to get it now. Wasn’t really mad about it but the bill came and it was 44+$. And I ordered a 29$ steak…. Don’t know how and I was in a bit of a rush to leave so didn’t think about it until later. I took a picture of the receipt cost if they try to claim this as false…. did I get charged for something else? Did they add auto 30% gratuity? Did she try to remove the milk but accidentally added a second? Not sure. Good steak. But a 29$ steak costing almost 45$ and not even getting my glass of milk…

Recommend to pass on Colton’s steakhouse. Ordered the largest ribeye on menu. In doing so, the steak was extremely tough, and under seasoned. The steak reminded me of a cheap cut of meat from Waffle House.

Well let's start with service, it was really good the bartender waited on our family. So she was busy. But did very good. We ordered steak Rib eye asked for med rare, came out super rare couldn't eat it at all, they tried to make another but in this time everyone else was finished. So manager talked to us, took it off. But was implementing it was our fault. But oh well cooks need to learn to cook. And in my defense it was 11 o'clock in the morning and 2 families were there. So no rushing just laziness on the cook.

We put our appetizer in first. When our cheese sticks came back the outside was warm the inside was still cold cheese wasn't melted at all. Our drinks where ok my husband said his long island wasn't great. Our main dishes my chicken fried chicken was good the white gravy however was very bland and had no flavor I ordered smashed potatoes expecting that is what I got but they where actually mashed potatoes (they call them smashed potatoes) they should probably change the name of that considering they are not smashed like the actual smashed potatoes. Those where also very bland and had not taste. I sent those back . Waiter was ok just not very attentive.

Reasonably good steakhouse.
Steaks are good and flavorful. I thought the vegetable sides were the best part. They were fresh and not overcooked.
Probably the best steak in town.
