Not sure why it took us so long to visit. Excellent service, a quaint & romantic atmosphere, and a broad menu. What more could you ask for? This is the Bay's best kept secret. Make a reservation. We watched lots of walk-ins get turned away at the door.

Sycamore House | French offers a wonderful dining experience with food that is nothing short of amazing. The four-course menu is tastefully curated with straightforward but delicious flavors. The Thai Curry Tofu is very flavorful, and the French onion soup and artichoke soup are great. The drum is cooked perfectly with a delicious almandine sauce, and the rice side is very tasty. The shrimp and grits feature a dark, redolent shrimp sauce with perfectly al dente grits. Desserts like the bread pudding, house made ice cream, key lime pie, and creme brulee are fab. The kitchen is accommodating, even making the fish almondine extra spicy while retaining its buttery richness.
Service is attentive but reserved and not intrusive, very French in style, and the wait staff are excellent. The atmosphere is lively and charming, with a quiet environment absent loud music. The ambience is warm and welcoming, and guests are greeted with a warm smile. The crispy French bread with whipped, creamy butter starts the meal perfectly. The wine list is good, and the price is very reasonable. Every detail is perfect, but nothing is fussy. One suggestion is to freshen up the dining room with lighter colored walls.
