I recently had dinner at Caroline in Boulevard Casino. The place itself has a beautiful atmosphere — elegant lighting, nice décor, and great service. We started with oysters (light house and 875 ) both were amazing: fresh, flavorful, and perfectly chilled. Their gumbo was also really good, rich and well-seasoned.

Everything was going great until I ordered what I thought was the fish of the day. The server told me about their special fish of the day, so I assumed it was the same item listed on the menu for around $40. But when the bill came, it turned out to be $72. The dish came with a small piece of grouper on top of some smashed potatoes, four skinny pieces of asparagus, and a little bit of crab meat. That was it.

Meanwhile, my sister ordered the salmon plate — it was bigger, had more sides, and only cost $40. Honestly, I just couldn’t see how my grouper dish was worth nearly double that. It wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t seasoned or unique enough to justify the price.

Also, even though the atmosphere looked really pretty, it was surprisingly loud. There was so much background noise that it didn’t really feel like a fine dining experience.

Overall, Caroline has some great dishes and a classy look, but between the noise and the $72 “special” fish that didn’t feel special at all, I left a bit disappointed.

I visited as a guest of a friend who visits frequently. EVERY staff person was friendly, efficient and some were lots of fun. I was not sure what to expect, but I will be back.

The food was absolutely AMAZING!!! 10/10 and I would give Sara a 12!!! Super impressed with the menu, service, and decor. My only negative is that we had to walk through cigarette smoke in the casino to get to it. I guarantee if it was at the front of the casino, it wouldn’t have any negative comments. By the end of dinner, I didn’t even notice the smell.

Hannah did an excellent job making us feel welcome. She went above for us.
Service - 5
Food - 3 - please add more pasta or non seafood dishes for those that don't eat seafood
Atmosphere - 3.5 - Very pretty restaurants and lively but very very loud.

Again, the 5 is for Hannah. I wouldn't return for the food. I WOULD RETURN FOR HANNAH!!

Whitney did an awesome job accommodating us @ the Beau Rivage Spa! Thank you, Whitney, for making my husband’s birthday extra special!

I came with my mom to Coralines with great expectations... Everyone we spoke with said they heard it was excellent seafood and big portions... Mom and I decided to split the oysters on the half shell and the gulf shrimp over grits... The oysters were the tiniest and had a metallic background taste and the shrimp!!! The shrimp were way overcooked, tough, still had the shell on two of mine and the legs were still attached!!!! TO SAY THE LEAST, WE FELT TARGETED AS WOMEN! The couple sitting next to us were served eagerly, and much faster than us.. Truly disappointed!!!! This review will be posted on Google reviews as well... I don't believe Coralines will last much longer...

Started with ahi tuna & oysters as appetizers - both were delicious but the ahi tuna was fantastic! My husband had the salmon, I got the red grouper - again both amazing. For dessert we had the hummingbird cheesecake creme brûlée which was absolutely amazing. Food was easily 10/10

Where the restaurant fell short for me was atmosphere & service. Our server was short, didn’t check on us, I had to wait for 15-20 minutes just for her to come over so I could order a second glass of wine. Service was meh - especially for the price. Typically for this price range restaurant I don’t have to hunt down my server or wait to order anything.

Additionally, it’s INCREDIBLY loud. Like can’t hear the person at the same table across from you loud. Literally we had to yell just to have a conversation- not what I really want to do during what is supposed to be a nice date night with my husband.

For the price, I don’t think we’ll be back. The food was totally worth it; however the service & atmosphere was not. ⅓ doesn’t warrant a repeat visit when we have many other restaurants in the area in the same price range where I can have a conversation without yelling & don’t have to find my server or wait forever to get something.

Entrance was pretty and you get transported into a quiet(er) garden-like, tea-party atmosphere. But don’t sit at this table in the walkway from the kitchen to the entrance. Waiters are swooshing me with their clothes; it’s an annoying seat. For food and drinks, The “where there’s smoke” drink is really good - I actually requested half maple syrup so it’s not too sweet and it was delicious. Hubby’s sazerac was served meat - just like they’re meant to be. The grilled oysters was excellent. Make sure to put a piece of bread on your plate and then take the oyster out on top of the bread. That way, you don’t lose any of those great juices. I even took a slice of cornbread and soaked up the juice that hubby lost lol. The cornbread is good - it probably ranks up there with some of the best breads I’ve had but doesn’t come close to Hestia’s Parker house rolls. But it did make me think of them which is a good sign, right? The gumbo was quite sad for $20. I found a couple of oysters and a large gulf shrimp. But I would say the Pappadeaux gumbo is way better. The Snapper Coraline was good but wow, so overpriced. I really don’t know why it was $54. It was definitely delicious but nothing special stood out to me. It was served with a creamy sauce with mushrooms, potatoes, and asparagus. And what cheapened it more was how another waiter (not our own) just plopped the dish on our table as he’s walking away. He didn’t even stop to kindly place it on our table. I felt like I was being served at some diner.

I don’t think we will return to Coraline’s. There’s a lot of seafood restaurants in the area that are more reasonably priced.

Catalina’s at Beau Rivage – A Pleasant Surprise

We didn’t have a reservation and ended up with about a 30-minute wait—not bad at all, especially with plenty of things to do around the casino to pass the time.

Once seated, the service was excellent from start to finish. The wait staff was attentive and friendly without being overbearing.

My lady ordered the Golden Shrimp, which was outstanding. The dish was cooked perfectly, and the accompanying sauce complemented it beautifully. I went with the Cajun Shrimp Pasta, and it didn’t disappoint. Rich flavor, generous portion, and just the right amount of kick.

All in all, Catalina’s was a great dining experience—quality food, solid service, and worth the short wait. We’ll definitely be back.

Food can at times be incredible or just outright be gross. There needs to be more seafood for a seafood restaurant. The staff are good people but constantly rotate but they need better training because I had gone recently and our waitress after getting the check back took 2 steps and literally looked at the bill to see how much we tipped which came off as extremely rude. Overall tho good place.

I could not win anything! $15K and nothing. It was horrible. My first time there and I was so disappointed. I heard others complaining about how tight the machines were so I was releaved to know it wasn’t just me feeling some type of way. Four days of playing a maxed out dragon cash and couldn’t win anything over $350. Rooms were nice, food was decent… and the staff was very nice.

I had a reservation so I was seated upon arrival. The seating was very nice, my server gave me her opinion on her favorite dinner choices in which I chose the steak. It was cooked at a perfect temperature for my liking, very delicious. She also chose a great wine pairing. I have already recommended this restaurant to other hotel guests and will definitely return.

Atmosphere and service were great, but the food was absolutely terrible. Had four different appetizers, a main course, and a side. The side was the only good thing we ordered. Hurt to spend $150/person for this meal.
