We really enjoy this restaurant. The food is always delicious & the employees are amazing.
My family and I visit Mackinaw City every year and this year we noticed there was a new Mexican restaurant in town so we tried it via a to-go order and I will say it was very, very disappointing to say the least. The rice was the mushiest I have ever eaten, and alot of our entrees included rice so dinner was ruined. Truly not edible. I called and told the store about it and they acted as though I was lying. Build your own taco is great. Everything is fresh and delicious. The meat is cooked when you order and tastes amazing. Menu has a lot to choose from. Vegan and gluten free options also available.

El Zarape is a hidden gem with fantastic Authentic Mexican food. The service is great, with friendly staff like Vanesa who has been there since they opened. The tacos, chile relleno, and enchiladas are huge and full of flavor. The meats are perfectly cooked, and the refried beans are creamy and tasty. The atmosphere may be simple, but the food makes up for it. The prices are very reasonable, like $6.42 for 6 tacos and nachos. Whether you try the grilled chicken taco, cheese and onion enchilada, or pollo con queso, everything is fresh and delicious. The small restaurant is easy to find in a strip center and is definitely worth the visit for some outstanding Mexican cuisine. Highly recommended for a flavorful and satisfying meal.
