Yamato Steak House Of Japan

Always enjoy getting food from Yamato. The staff is kind and helpful. Food quality is generally pretty good. It also doesn’t hurt that it’s the only Japanese place in town. They kinda have the market cornered.

This place is absolutely horrible and I do not understand how they are still in business went up there and spent $76. The sushi was horrid tasted and smelt like rotting fish like it had been made days before and just was left in the refrigerator. Rice was hard on the outside. I ordered the rice and shrimp my food had plastic all in it and The other people that were with me that ordered did not enjoy the food so we just threw it all the way I would not recommend this place to nobody

I think I wrote about this place befor3 unless I was dreaming, but the entire place felt nice and warm aesthetic wise, and the food was phenomenal. I personally eat more than most people, and got 3 full rolls, one which was fried and very good, and a yudon noodle which was good too. Didn't ask if it was all just for me either so I left a 20$tip :)

I ordered a spicy snow crab roll from here and a water, after taking a bite of my food the flavor didn’t taste right to me but I thought I just didn’t like the roll I got as I was leaving I seen multiple roaches then I proceeded to go home and throw up my guts with food poisoning then had an allergic reaction from what I assume was crab meat that had gone bad so now I’m sick and my face has swelled and gotten rashes and my throat is also swollen (ps I’m not allergic to ANYTHING) I’ve eaten crab before and tons of sushi throughout my life with crab, fish, etc and never had this problem.

I’ve never seen a boss/owner treat their employees so horribly. The waitresses are very nice and are working really hard every time I go in there and to see them treated so poorly is shameful. If I could give this restaurant 0 stars I would. Take a hospitality class and learn how to speak to people.

There’s multiple times i have came into yamato’s and have heard the boss screaming and hollering at the employees and have seen multiple walk away almost in tears. This is something that i would never deal with or put up with and i feel really sorry for all of the people that has to deal with it.

Ordered filet mignon hibachi. My husband got his order of sushi and a second sushi order before the waitress told us that my order would be out eventually and that carry out orders took priority. I just cancelled my order because my party was all finished and my entree never came. I suggest order hibachi prior to arrival or just dont go.

BEWARE: The reviews speak loud and clear wish I would have looked at them before hand.. Ordered steak hibachi and it was burnt the steak was hard ans a rock like it was left overs. The rice was oily as everything and hard to chew. The salad was not even cold. I believe the department of health needs to go in a clean house. I tried it and not long after I got sick as a dog. It’s Booneville Mississippi not many places to eat. This one is by far the worst place to eat. Don’t waste your money. No lie my dog smelled it and wouldn’t even touch it. That alone showed me something wasn’t right. Never will I be back ever.

We walked in to three people sitting at a side table, who told us to seat ourselves and she would find us. When we arrived there was one table of 10 people and three of us and a 1 year old, and 2 other people. The two people seated behind us had a worker sitting with them talking and laughing,. One of the people from the front table came and took our order and brought us drinks. She came back 30 minutes later and told us our food would be delayed due to the 10 other people in the restaurant. It took an hour to get our food. The workers checked on the 10 people repeatedly laughing and cutting up with them. She never one time asked if we needed anything. My husband had to get up and ask for water. The rice was cold and dry, we had 2 bento boxes, we got no soup or salad. My Sushi was not good. There were two guys at the front working while everyone else was sitting around at the front. We had to get up and go to the register to get our ticket. The condiments on the table were sticky and nasty. I have never had such bad food and service. When we said something at the register we were told he could only give us 10% off and he would get in trouble if it was more. However workers were giving their friends discounts out in the open. We definitely will not be back.
