This is a quaint establishment with a long history. I was greeted by very kind staff, and the food was piping hot. I got red beans and rice, Mac and cheese, green beans, cornbread, sweet tea and peach cobbler for less than $20. I am used to southern MS soul food, so I enjoyed a bit of a new experience. The flavor profile was heartier, and the sausage was less spicy with more herbs. I really loved it, and I will be back!
I just can’t get over how good everything was and the ice tea tasted amazing even though it was raining all day it was worth the drive from T-Town my ladies and I will most definitely visit again …
I went with Helen’s for the catering of my uncle’s 70th birthday celebration and the food was AMAZING. Everyone kept talking about how they loved the herb roasted chicken especially. I hope whatever they’re doing in the kitchen that they keep it up, especially with the chicken. And the salad and fruit tray were just beautiful. I even have an aunt who’s now considering Helen’s for her event. Mr. Kabir was such a pleasure to work with and made sure I had everything I needed....
