It was our first time having breakfast here. Drive over from Waveland because we wanted something to eat for breakfast besides wake house or McDonald's. Neither my wife nor I were disappointed. Food and coffee was amazing. Can't wait to visit again.
Kid-friendliness: There was a kids menu
9 folks in the restaurant and it took 28 minutes to get luke warm breakfast food. Very disappointing. It was 1:15 on a Saturday.Waitress never mentioned any specials and then we saw a sign with specials as we left. Waitress told us the reason it took so look was orher meats were on the griddle (must be a small griddle) Aand the cook didn't want our eggs to get mixed with other flavors. Less than ordinary.
I don’t usually leave reviews. But here I am. My husband and I stopped here with our 3 year old for breakfast at 10:30 on a Sunday. It was not overly packed. And we ordered simple things, 2 eggs with bacon. An omelet. We waited an hour for our food. It was absolutely crazy to wait that long at a cafe place for breakfast. Not to mention trying to explain to my 3 year old that his food is “coming”. And also, they didn’t even end up getting our order right. So I wouldn’t recommend.
It is really nice to go to a breakfast/lunch spot and have a menu that isn't cookie cutter of every other place. This has a New Orleans vibe with the dark coffee, beignets, and grits with some nice egg and pancake selections. The portions aren't huge, but they are right-sized, I'm tired of throwing away food I don't eat. I can think of two things that would help the customer experience. First, get some real jam or jellies and serve it on request. Smuckers packages are just low quality for these very fresh dishes. Second, find some cushions for the seating. Metal chairs are cold and hard for any length of time. Other than that, we enjoyed the experience and the staff are terrific.
I wish there were no stars! I never felt more ripped off as I did today. I ordered a grilled shrimp salad. There were 4 dried up little shrimp. Barely any feta, cranberries or red onion.$15 for a $2 worth of mixed greens.Terrible I will never eat here again
Food is excellent. Coffee is the best - no watered down mess. True New Orleans Coffee. They often have special flavors and even did a donation to breast cancer organizations with one of them. The pork chop is so juicy. I recommend it. The eggs are fresh and not overcooked.I would give it 5 stars, but the menu is limited, so the items that were my 5 star go to selections are not there now. Would still recommend eating there! Overall the best breakfast in Diamondhead.
Cannot leave enough of a glowing review for the hospitality and well prepared food, Café Brunet is the go-to for those looking for a home style breakfast, lunch or dinner. The well stocked coffee bar and the fee free event nook had me impressed, will definitely need that for any future game days i plan on having.
Vegetarian options: The amount of menu accessibility is astounding, she really takes the time to research and plan out a menu for any and all patrons
Parking: Vast parking, well spaced and just a quick little walk to the door
Went for brunch. The server pretty much threw utensils on table. Kept yelling across the place at new person training. The food was not good. My boyfriend ordered the 3 egg meal. It may have been 1 egg of overcooked egg. Bacon was soggy. I had omelet. Not good at all. We had mimosas. Prob no champagne. I never review but this was a terrible dining experience. If the server would not have been yelling over the place maybe food would have been excused
We visit Diamondhead regularly, and often seek out new places for lunch. We found the atmosphere of this cafe to be clean and inviting. The menu offered a decent variety, and the service was efficient and friendly. Our meals were very tasty - one of us had the special and the other had a Reuben sandwich. The food was tasty, however, for the price the quantity was lame and the overall presentation left a lot to be desired The meatloaf on the special was delicious, however, the portions were "child size". Especially the sides - potatoes and corn are not expenive items and the amounts on the plate were ridiculously small. The Reuben was also very good, but for the price there should have been a side dish of some sort - only thing served with it was a small bag of plain chips which was tacky. We are not big eaters by any means, so for the 2 of us ladies it was okay, but for a hungry man or a younger person with a healthy appetite it probably wouldn't have been enough - especially for the price. I think a few small changes would make us inclined to visit this cafe again, but it won't be for a while as there are other choices in the area to try first.
3rd time there since they opened a year ago. Want to support local business.. friendly service. Food ok.. bland but the older clientele like it that way I was told. Just no seasoning at all.. Omlette just needed seasoning of some sort.. salt and pepper at least. casserole was not good at all. Gouda grits were not even worth mentioning. Husband said the same about Steak and Egg Bagel. I took a bite.. Edible at best. Short staffed. Over priced for portions and just taste. Good tea though!

We went here for brunch. The food was great, the staff was friendly, and the restaurant was very clean. We had a wonderful experience. If you're in the area I'd definitely recommend a visit!
An interesting and unusual cafe. Original design and serving of dishes! The name corresponds to the type and taste! As a guest from another country, I am absolutely delighted! I will definitely visit this cafe upon arrival!
We had 6 people in our party, 4 adults and 2 children. The waiter took our drink order fairly quickly, but took awhile for the drinks ro arrive (1 coffee, 1 latte, 2 chocolate milks, and 2 waters). Once the waiter took our food orders, it took close to an hour to get our food. Had to ask for butter and syrup for the pancakes. Pancakes were thick and rubbery in texture, which made them hard to cut even with a knife. Bacon and scrambled eggs were ok, but nothing special. Breakfast for 6 people cost almost $100 for food that was mediocre at best.
A must-do in Diamondhead! You will be greeted by friendly faces and a clean, elegant interior. Aside from the excellent espresso, the capable, welcoming staff are the real treat here. Service like this is hard to find. I’m highly impressed with this team.-a former Starbucks barista who appreciates a warm welcome and strong coffeePictured: King cake latte with oat milk (delish!)
An excellent cafe regardless of the time of day. I’m halfway through on a 10 mile ride and have a a n excellent lunch wit fine coffee. I’m having their BLT with a side fruit cup, coffee and water to go. Fantastic personal service. Will do it again and again.
