Excellent in every respect. It's hard to find a good, local restaurant on the coast that isn't a tourist trap with jacked up prices, but Cafe New Orleans has saved the day. It's a casual place, decorated with fish nets and wall murals (but aesthetically it all works here), and a happy staff. Seriously, we saw nothing but smiles and happy faces while eating there. Even the lady bussing a table smiled at us. And the joy here is sincere, not put-on. The food. We had a half shrimp poboy with gumbo, and a shrimp spaghetti. Yes, shrimp spaghetti. It's a thing. Both were delicious. The ice tea was excellent. Our waitress seemed genuinely happy we were there, and she took good care of us. I saw local folks eating there at lunch, which is a big plus. I'm glad I don't live here, because if I did, I'd have lunch here every day, and weigh 500 pounds by the end of the year. Five stars all the way around.

Was charged a convenience fee and a tip without my knowledge on a to go order. Will not make this mistake again. This should have been fees explained when placing the order.

First time to tryout this restaurant. Ordered the seafood platter which came with oysters, scrimp, catfish, & a deviled crab. The six little oysters were to hard to eat. There was about a pound of scrimp and two small pieces of catfish. All were grossly over cooked. The fries and iced tea were good. The gumbo or red beans and rice may have been a better option.

Let me start off by saying I'll be back. Cafe New Orleans is a good place! BUT the other day I ordered a muffuletta and it was highly disappointing. The bread was cool and soft ... not nearly toasted enough. Never serve a chilled or even room temp muffuletta. The entire sandwich was too cool. No mortadella! Instead, it was some kind of unpleasant cold cut, I'm guessing really cheap baloney ... not bologna, baloney!! The salami and ham (not capicola) were paper thin and not very tasty. The olive salad was OK. I'm not sure about the cheese but I suspect with the other shortfalls there was only mozzarella or provolone but not both. I won't order a muff again, but I'll be back for shrimp spaghetti and just about anything else on the menu.

We had such a great experience here. Our server was absolutely wonderful. She mentioned she was an eighth grade teacher, and it shows in the best way. She was kind, patient, incredibly attentive, and made us feel right at home.
The food was delicious and the portions were huge. Seriously, bring your appetite or be ready to take home leftovers. This place is a gem.

Terrible all the way around! Sad this place went down hill. I have many reasons for this review. I will not go into all the problems but only some that I had here! The first red flag was a hostess asked me to help her move a table for some random family, while we were waiting for a table for 2, I declined!!! Very bad business and poorly ran! Food is terrible! Shrimp tasted nasty!!! Burger was nasty, like it was bought out of a store. Hair in my food, waitress forgot so many commonly asked for things, like to go boxes and drinks that we asked for. Waited 20 minutes, then had to ask again when they didn't arrive. Waitress ran into my daughter while we're at the register, she didn't even say excuse me first or hey I'm right behind you. I could go on and on with many more problems than what I mentioned. This is the worst place I've ever been to.
