Waffle House

I came for waffles, but stayed for the entertainment. Walked in at 2 a.m., because that’s when Waffle House truly shines. The waitress greeted me like an old friend who owes me money, and the coffee tasted like it had seen some things.

Halfway through my hash browns, two guys started arguing about who invented grits. Next thing you know, chairs are flying like it’s WWE: Waffle Wrestling Entertainment. I’m thinking, “This is why I tip 30%.”

It was a Waffle House. Our server was very attentive and awesome.

Always good for a quick bite

Thank goodness for the guests around to distract from the chaos and absolutely terrible service. Poor man next to me was already there when we arrived. He had ordered 3 biscuits to go. 30 minutes later we finally got our order and he was still waiting. And the server kept making comments about how she had to go in order, then had the nerve to tell him he should have ordered online and it would have been ready! The servers were talking about some shirts they were ordering for the team instead of calling orders and making excuses to the customers about why they couldn't call the orders. They had two and three orders per server waiting to go in. 10 minutes just to get water. We stop at Waffle Houses all over the country because they are efficient, consistent and congenial. This team was none of these and our server made both the guests and her teammates stressed and made us feel guilty for having asked if our order was in yet after 15 minutes of waiting.

I continue to have a great experience at this Waffle House! Our server, Shannon, went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. She was attentive, friendly, and made us feel truly welcomed. The food was delicious—fresh, hot, and exactly what we were craving. It’s not often you get both excellent service and great food at the same time, but Shannon really made this visit stand out.

Lou Lou was our server and she did an amazing job. It was busy, but she took care of us and made sure we were set. Food came out quick. And this is the reason I always choose this waffle house. 🫶🏼
