The Half Shell Oyster House offers a diverse seafood menu and a lively atmosphere with a large bar and TVs. The waitstaff is friendly and attentive, and the food is exceptional, with dishes like Tuna Espanade and seafood fettuccine highly praised for their flavor and cooking. The crab claw appetizer and voodoo wings are also standouts.
Customers have praised the restaurant's food, with the stuffed portabello mushrooms, shrimp and grits, and shrimp po' boy receiving positive reviews. The oysters have also been mentioned, though some customers noted that a few had shells in them. The catch of the day, particularly the cobia, has been highlighted as one of the best dishes. The restaurant is described as having a safe area and reasonable prices for the quality of the food.
The overall atmosphere is lively, and the staff is eager to make the dining experience pleasant for customers. This kid-friendly restaurant is a great spot for families, with options like crayons on the table cloth to keep children entertained.
