First off, the air freshener was overwhelmingly loud! We waited 20 minutes for our drinks AFTER the waitress took our drink order. Waited an hour for our food and had to change the baked potato because the microwave quit… FFs were BAKED (w/out requesting) and undercooked, they forgot the roll, and the gumbo should be taken off the menu! Everything was cold. All of this costed closer to $100 than not…no ma’am, WILL NOT EVER be back!!!!

The food was delicious. We had the Boudin Balls, Seafood Gumbo, Fried Alligator and Blackened Catfish. Everything was very tasty. The service was excellent! The owner came out and seated us and checked on us several times! At first we thought they weren't open, so be sure to try the door!!

I was on a motorcycle trip and needed lunch. I found this Restraunt on my Garmin and it had good reviews so I headed there. When I say the location it was not what I expected. Opened the door and it looked inviting and the folks were friendly. We had the gumbo and it was delicious. As we were paying one of the servers asked where we were from. When I said Missouri she said so is the couple over there. We talked and the lady asked if I had the catfish. When I said no she insisted that I try a piece she had left and said “ it’s the best I ever had”. She was correct! Very tasty, crispy breading and perfectly fried. If it wasn’t such a far drive I go back tomorrow.

What’s the magic of 5PM that enables this establishment to cook a steak after that time but not before? The grill they cook the hamburgers on for lunch should cook a steak as well. Maybe I’m missing something.

It was very enjoyable experience . The owner came by to welcome us to the place .The food took a little bit to come out to us ; but that was understandable ,it was real food and freshly cooked to order. I would easily rate it for myself 10 of 10 Also very clean and neat.

I recently stopped in here on a night I didnt know what I wanted. Bad move as this place had a lot of interesting sounding items on the menu. I ended up wayyy over ordering! I started off with the boudin balls and gator bites. While both are good, they are really similar. Heads up, the gator bites are chopped up meat mixed with other stuff and pressed into a ball like a fritter. Since the boudin bites are made roughly the same way...it was hard to remember which was which.
The waitress came out a while later and said they noticed they had some rib tips left. Since this was the dish that seems pretty popular here, I didn't want to pass up the chance to try that. Rib tips are not a common bbq menu item where I am from.
I now know they are not my favorite. For those unfamiliar, what I got was a plate of all the cartilage end pieces of the ribs. It was also very fatty and full of connective tissue, not a lot of meat. If you are they type of person who likes chicken feet, you might appreciate rib tips...but not my thing. The rib tips came with 2 sides. I got the salad and the corn fritters. Corn fritters were tasty.
All in all not bad. But unfortunately, at a BBQ joint, the best items were deep fried.
The one waitress seemed very attentive, the other seemed lost. They both came to my table anddidn'tt seem aware that the other had brought parts of the order already. (I was 1 of 2 tables, so not sure how there was the confusion). Then a new guy wearing a dirty hoody and pants dropped off my rib tips. I was hoping, looking like he had been camping the past week, that he wasn't the one cooking food😬.

Not good! Out of pork and rib tips manager was informed that we didn't get one of our meals and she just shrugged and smiled at us. Food that we did receive was burnt and tough and no one seemed to care. Letting all my family and friends know to go somewhere else.

The owner was very friendly and treated us like old friends. She gave us a true southern meal with ribs, gumbo, beans and rice, boudin balls, bread pudding and Elvis cake reasonably priced.
