“I tried a vegan dish for the first time today and I must say I was very impressed. I had three tacos, sweet potato fries and a mango smoothie. The dish was appealing to look at, the aromas were pleasant and the taste was excellent. If you’re interested in trying vegan foods, check out this place on Highway 82, highly recommended!!”

“DOE’S EAT PLACE is not a restaurant, but a true Delta Treasure! Walking through that screen door and you are transported to days long past. The “decor” is not there to make you feel good, but precious keepsakes that each have a unique story. The food is absolute perfection and well worth the price. The casual atmosphere makes it feel like home and the staff are like family to every customer. Bring your favorite wine in your purse or brown bag special. Beer, cokes, & Sweet Tea are available of course. For large parties, call ahead for a reservation and let them know you’re coming because they are packed every night (for good reason)! My favorite food item is the broiled shrimp and the garlic bread for dipping. It’s best to arrive with an empty tummy and a full wallet! Tip those waitresses double because they are one of a kind! Don’t forget to snap a photo outside to prove you were at the “original” DOE’S!! It’s a tradition. Don’t leave your Diamonds on your Dash with your car unlocked because..well you know what you did wrong there. Remember where you are because we are all “dirt poor” here 😅 in the Dirty Delta, but those of us that live here know that we are blessed to live in this quiet little part of our country filled with good people and loads of character! Ya’ll have fun!!!”

“Love this place! Very nice place to sit and enjoy a great cup of coffee and a fresh pastry! Comfy chairs or tables to eat or study at. The food is a healthy alternative to regular fast foods. Try her fresh tabouli and chicken salad sandwich, so good! I love the Christmas cookies!!! ?”

“The Four Foodie Sisters took on the Tamale Trail in search of the best tamales. STOP RIGHT HERE, because this place is the bomb. It is only one of two places we would drive back to with more people!!! The Tamale Pie and the Fried Tamales are off the chart. Do not pass this up or miss out. The staff was AMAZING as well. Go to the 1427 Hwy 1 location because it has the full menu. We promise, you won't be disappointed. The Four Foodie Sisters know food”

“We stopped by Spectator’s around 5 pm this past Thursday before heading out on a 2 hour drive back home. We had never eaten at Spectator’s before but we were hungry so took a chance on getting some good food before hitting the road. Wow, my guy order the catfish dinner and I opted for the hamburger! Both of us got the crispy potato fries … by chance it was a great choice! Needless to say, to go boxes were needed since neither of us could finish the huge amount of food before us! My burger was gigantic, delicious but beyond my stomach’s capacity, especially so since the crispy potato fries piled high next to the burger. Spectator’s did not disappoint us. We will definitely stop by the next time we are in Greenville!”

“Walked in as a first-time customer & walked out as a forever customer today. One of the best salads I ever had since Q-Mart by Carrie Stern. I knew the salad was gone be busting when I smelled the fresh aroma of it from the bag. Salad was huge and Made just the way I like my salads… WITH EVERYTHING‼️ I even love how they chopped the cucumbers up small and soft. The customer service was amazing. Very nice people! BLACK OWNED right in my neighborhood too. I will be back to support more. (Sorry, I couldn’t even get a picture of it because I ate it so fast without thinking to even take one.)”

“My wife and I went to Downtown Grill to celebrate our 30 anniversary. Wonderful atmosphere and a beautiful restaurant. Waitress was outstanding and our food was cooked perfectly.”

“You have to have their shrimp! They are amazing!!! Some of my favorite waitstaff/bartenders there are Boo, Coco, Kenyatta, and Regineke. They have the best DJs in the delta like DJ Ready and DJ Trick Nasty.”

“Great food... especially the onion soup! Allergy friendly-- will make sure your food is not in contact with specified items that you are allergic to (mushrooms, in our case). Service depends on which server gets assigned to your table, some are better than others. The lighting in the restaurant could use some updating, as it is a little dark inside. The restaurant is usually kept clean unless you come during a busy time (which is understandable).

“Where do I even begin. This is a hidden gem! The staff is super nice and helpful and I got their turkey leg over dirty rice with cream sauce per recommendation. It was by far the best meal Ive had in a long time. If the turkey leg is this good, I'm jealous for what their family does for Thanksgiving. If I could put more than 5 stars I would. I'll definitely be back!”

“II wasn't necessarily in the mood for wings but with limited options in a foreign place I was given a recommendation and decided to give it try. As a group we ordered a variety of wing sauces: honey gold, lemon pepper, and spicy bbq. We also ordered a chicken philly but it didn't meet expectations.”

“Went in a 7PM and was greeted as soon as I walked in. The steak was perfectly cooked and delicious. The fried okra was hot and fresh and the sweet tea was great. Wait staff was friendly, never missed a refill, and continued to check on me. Couldn't ask for anything better on a Wednesday night. Great job!”
