Food was very average. For the price I would definitely prefer to go to a good buffet. They were nice but I will not be back.

This used to be the best place for catfish. Charlie would be embarrassed. I paid $30 for a combination platter that wasn't worth $15.

Simple delicious. I visited Catfish Charlie's 12 years ago, on my move back to Texas. Food was amazing then as it is now. Got the fish/shrimp platter, w/baked sweet potatoe, plus coleslaw and a basket of hot biscuits served with jam/butter. Jennifer my waitress was very sweet and attentive. Thank you again for consistent service!

Yikes. Service at this restaurant used to be so much better. We've been to this place annually within the last decade and the service has always been top notch. Tonight the service took 3 hours with barely an apology from management. Most restaurants seem to care enough to make amends in cases like this with offering maybe a free dessert or partial dinner refund, unfortunately none of this was offered so we left feeling underwhelmed compared to previous visits. The fish was good and hot, but the grilled fish was barely warm. Took forever to get drinks, several occasions we took our cups to the bar to ask for help. The menus were also sticking to the table like one of them hasn't been wiped down or cleaned in weeks. Yuck. Just a very bizarre experience, but this was for my husband's birthday and he was pretty displeased so I don't see us coming back unfortunately :(. EDIT: I forgot to add another major flaw... The prices!! If the prices reflected the service, I wouldn't be giving such low stars, but the fact this place charges an arm and a leg for mediocre food AND terrible customer service, it just worsens the experience. Also when we initially when we walked in, we noticed half the restaurant was occupied, usually it is packed so it definitely feels like this restaurant is losing customers. So unfortunate given the fact we've made this visit a tradition, but there are other cheaper places to eat with better service on the Coast.

I visited a few weeks ago for the 1st time. The service was top notch, never had to ask for refills, and she was very nice and friendly. The catfish was pretty good, but not the "best ever" or anything, and very limited choice of sides for the all-you-can-eat option!
When paying my bill with the cashier, I merely suggested offering more or some different sides, such as baked beans, tater salad, fried okra, or beans and cornbread, to which she scoffed @ the idea by saying: "We've offered the SAME items/ menu for 43 years, why change what works?!?" Seriously??? So, I'm to believe the items/ menu is the same today, as was on day one 40 yrs ago?!?

Small quantities, takes forever to get more fish. Fish had good flavor though. Disappointing that the platter for 2 ($5 up charge) comes with 3 small pieces of fish (which isn’t all you can eat)

Hostess was very polite, while I was deciding on eating there. Customer service is rare, this day and time.

The food was good... Not bad, but not great either. The fish was a little thicker and the breading a tad too "crunchy" (not the delicate crispness I prefer), and a little bland for my tastes. The coleslaw was edible, though bland as well (more pronounced cabbage flavor), and freshly made. The biscuits were light and fluffy, on par with Cracker Barrel. The service was great, polite and speedy, and prices were on par for a restaurant. Overall, nothing was particularly bad, though nothing stood out as delicious either.
