I discovered Salute while looking for meatless options nearby. I live about an hour away in Mobile and have made the drive several times just for their vegan menu which I hope they NEVER get rid of!! It's so hard to find vegetarian/vegan dishes in this part of the country 😆and Salute delivers with some very delicious, fulfilling options!
Portions are definitely smaller now and not worth it. The floors and walls are dirty too.
I had an excellent experience with Ms. Alicia at Salute Italian Restaurant in Gulfport, MS. She was incredibly friendly, knowledgeable about the menu, and genuinely personable. She took the time to recommend some great options and helped me curate my order exactly how I wanted. Ms. Alicia truly embodies the spirit of outstanding customer service and set the bar very high for future visits. I’ll definitely be returning and requesting her service again!
Always really love it here. Service is awesome. Food is awesome. I am obsessed with the house vinegarette salad dressing! It tastes amazing!
Excellent fried green tomatoes, eggplant parm, and chicken salute pasta ❤️
Forget all of the tourist trap restaurants in the area. The Shaggy’s, White Cap, and the like don’t hold a candle to Salute!!
We decided to try one more time to get a good seafood meal while in the area. Our last night in town we finally found Salute, and wish we would have done so 8 days ago when we got here.
The only small critique we could say is finding the door to go in is a bit confusing.
Once inside, oh-my-word.
The decor is beautiful. The staff is friendly, and the food…to die for.
We started off with the seafood bread. It was so good we didn’t leave a drop of the cream sauce on the plate.
Then we split the Supreme Pasta which basically had some of the same crawfish, shrimp, andouille in a cream sauce as the appetizer, but better! It was over a light as air fettuccine. We both said it was the BEST pasta dish we ever have ever had. EVER!! The Alfredo sauce was so light and super creamy.
We then proceeded to be gluttonous and ordered the bananas foster bread pudding and a piece of tiramisu. We both couldn’t even eat half of them because we had already eaten so much. But they both were delicious. The bread pudding is very sweet.
Run to this place!! You won’t be sorry
I wanted to like this place so badly, and I really tried, but I just couldn't. It started off with our server not coming to our table. Another server came and asked if he had been by. When we said no, she went and found him. He never brought us bread. The other server that asked us if we had service yet, came and brought us bread.
Now, let's premise this by saying I am very Italian, and this in no way, shape or form, was authentic Italian food. I ordered the spaghetti and meatballs. It came with only one meatball, but they were tolerable. Now, as for the sauce, I was flabbergasted. There were big chunks of tomatoes on top, and what looked like stewed tomato sauce on the bottom. There was no flavor at all. This is the kicker. No matter how many times I mixed the sauce and pasta together, the spaghetti was still white!!!! The sauce was so watery, it ran right off the spaghetti. Never in my life have I seen sauce like this. I tried really hard to like it, but I just couldn't.
Salute’s catering team were amazing to work with! They were such a joy to be around on wedding day. I definitely recommend Holli & her team for your event needs.
3 ladies and I had lunch Friday at noon. Separate checks. The food was delicious I want to brag on our waiter, she was excellent. Alicia C. Many trips to the table and she was just a delight. Kudos.
The food was outstanding but the service was the best part. Nia was on top of food and drinks with a smile on her face! My sister and I really enjoyed dinner!

it was absolutely perfect. my husband and I went here for our 26th wedding anniversary and I have to say the food was spot on and our waitress Devin I'm not sure if this the way to spell name but she was phenomenal. I highly recommend this establishment you won't be disappointed at all!!! we will definitely be back
Excellent location with a fabulous view of surrounding shaded oaks around the restaurant and parking areas. Great value for $9.99 extensive and delicious lunch menu selections. And the fresh bread! So delicious, served hot with butter and spinach spreads or generous quantities of high quality olive oil which is available on each table. Can't wait to go back to my favorite restaurant on the Gulf Coast!
Second time we've eaten here, food is outstanding! This time we ordered the crab cake appetizer , fried lasagna, tomato basil soup and a special pasta dish with shrimp, crawfish and andouille over angle hair with two pork tenderloin medallions. All three of us were thrilled with our choices! Our waitress was wonderful, attentive and quick with any request. Only down side, we made a reservation for Sunday at 3pm and was seated in a small booth with no view, with a reservation, better seating would have been appreciated. Overall a great meal!
I booked here because of the reviews, but was extremely disappointed. I got chicken picatta. The chicken was thin overcooked, and had the texture of shoe leather. I could barely cut it with my knife. The server was very slow and although was nice wasn't efficient. My husband's food was ok. The restaurant was very very cold.
Birthday. We frequent this restaurant every time we are in Mississippi. It is the best restaurant in Gulfport for food, pricing, service, variety and the feel of belonging.
