“I grew up in Bel Aire from the early 70s through the early 90s (left for the Navy). As kids we’d get snow cones from here. A treat for poor folk in 102 degree summers! Just south was the old Optimist Club (now a water company) that had an awesome arcade and the adjacent field (now a storage lot) was used for flag football. The red “clay hills” across from the field (now storage lot) were much bigger than now (erosion and time) were the site of many dirt clod wars in the 80s! I remember when Community Rd wasn’t even there, and was a dirt road for years. The hospital and Crossroads Center were all woods and we’d play army there, hunt with BB guns and fish in the creek. Believe it or not, there was a “deer crossing” sign in front of Bel Aire Elementary in my day. The Apartments on Angela were once a swamp we’d chase moccasins in. Been in California for the last 25 years (Navy) and have been taking my son to Bel Aire Snow Cones since he was a baby every time we go home. He’s graduating high school soon. TRADITION! To tell you how far back I go, my dad and I were rear-ended (non injury) in the intersection in front of Bel Aire Snow Cones in the late 70s on Dedeaux Rd.“

“Wedding cake flavor tastes like burnt hair. Hawaiian dreamsickle is the best. I think buying better quality flavors would up sells. I would also like to suggest an option of putting a scoop of ice cream in the cup and snow ball on top. I would buy that everyday. Suggested retail price for med $3.00.“
