“2025 Update: After having such a good time at Nostalgia the last time I was there (May 2024), I suggested it to a family member who wanted to celebrate his birthday (June 2025). That probably wasn't the best decision. I was disappointed to see they have not only changed locations, but the entire vibe was different. This is no longer a place for mature people (30-45)who like to dress well, hear good music, and have a good time. This is now a place for the younger (21-30) people who like bottle popping, music you can't hear over, and twerking/standing on furniture. If I was 15 years younger, this would likely be my weekend go-to. But not now. Unfortunately, my turn-up era has passed, and I'm in my good, safe, fun era. So I probably wouldn't return. Just wanted to provide an update for those who may have seen my previous review and thought the vibe was the same.

Original review: I was invited to Nostalgia to celebrate a friend's birthday. It was easy to find (right off Main Street in Hattiesburg), but parking is scarce (through no fault of the establishment, as there are other businesses on the same strip). The bar downstairs is nice, neat, and clean, and there's ample sitting space. The VIP lounge upstairs is decent (it's the typical VIP: bar, lounge furniture, DJ, dance floor, and restrooms). There's also a really nice patio downstairs where you can enjoy hookah and a drink within earshot of the music. The vibe was great, and there was plenty of security patroling inside and out. No foolishness at all (which I was concerned about due to other reviews). The drinks were ok. This is not a bar where you're going to get mixologist crafted cocktails, but the bartenders do use a strong pour for the typical whiskey and coke or vodka and cranberry. All in all, the music was great (mix of old and new) and we had a good time!“

“We went up to the June Jam with 9 bands ! This is the best venue we've been to in a long time. The hospitality was second to none and Janet the owner is a fantastic lady that showed us a great time ! We will watch this venue and me and my friends will be going back for sure oh the food is awesome too! We will be there for The June Jam in 2026 you can bet if you missed this one you better not miss the next one ! 9 bands on 2 bandstands!!! See y'all net year!“

“We recently moved to the area from StLouis and have been craving the fine dining we had available in quantity. This place foots the bill in service, food, and atmosphere. They should pay their chef double or triple, whatever it takes to keep them. Everything we had from salad through dessert was perfect in seasoning, quantity, and presentation. I don’t know of any gumbo I’ve had better than theirs. Save room for the white chocolate bread pudding for dessert. Nothing like it anywhere in the world. The wait staff is first rate in friendliness and service. Ask for Rylee if you are there on a Fri/Sat/Sun evening. She will take care of you!“

“This place is my go to meal. I just love the waitress Marsha and Queen. They are awesome in their job. The cooks in the back Hollie and Duke cook my food to perfection. David the manager is the best they have had thus far. I love this place and wouldn’t trade it for nothing in the world.“
