We decided to try Chesterfields out again since it had been a while since we had been there. The atmosphere was much better than before when it was so loud you could not hear the person across the table. The food was decent but I have a hard time paying high food prices for something I can cook much better at home. The big beef I have with the experience was the service and mandatory gratuity. The term “gratuity” comes from the Latin word gratuitus, meaning “free” or “given without obligation.” It later evolved through the French word gratuité, meaning “a gift or favor.”
In English, the term was adopted in the 15th century to refer to a financial reward given voluntarily for services rendered, which is how we use it today—often as a synonym for a tip.
I believe in giving really good tips when it is warrants. When the service is good, prompt and courteous. I take offense to a mandated gratuity especially for a small party. The service was less than prompt, not because the young lady was incompetent but because she was spread too thin. I‘m going to predict our presence there will be another decade. There are too many capable restaurants without mandated tips and better service.

This restaurant is a gem! The authentic red beans and rice are perfectly seasoned and delicious. The chill atmosphere makes it a great spot to relax and enjoy amazing food. Highly recommend!

Good was great and the drinks too but the service was horrible I order a shrimp poboy for my daughter and when she came with the food it was just shrimp and fries no poboy I told her that was not what I order and then she argued with me over it my husband took that plate and gave me daughter his poboy but I was very disappointed and we was a large table of 12 but she didn't have to be so rude to me

All around great experience 1st time and will not be our last. Food was excellent, expresso martini we loved, nice clean restaurant and service was on point. The waiters name was Shawn on our receipt hope that was his name,he hustled to make sure all his tables were good.
My first time visiting Hattiesburg, MS. When we first stepped into the restaurant the atmosphere was so welcoming. We arrived around 2 pm and was seated immediately. The waitress Ariona was the BEST she knew her stuff and was so friendly and bubbly. More restaurants need employees like Ariona. Ariona suggested the Boudin egg rolls (oooh so, so good!!), We also tried the seafood stuffed ribeye and the seafood stuffed pork chops. Everything was delicious!!! I have nothing negative to say about Chesterfields can't wait to visit again.
I wish I had taken pics but the food was so good I couldn't put my fork down. The crab cakes were some of the best I have eaten. The consistency was perfect and the remoulade sauce was a great compliment. We all had something totally different so there's enough variety on the menu to find something for everyone's tastes.
I really had an awesome experience. When my wife and I ate lunch there. The food was fresh and delicious 😋 and the staff was very friendly and helpful.. If you're in the area and want a great place to eat. Stop by and give them a try....👍😀

We go there for he crab claws and they never disappoint.
Was there with a party of 21. The waitress, Lizzie, was very good; she was attentive and patient. Huey, the manager, was terrible, he caused lots of confusion and came across as passive aggressive.
Did not like the Back Bay pasta; the crab cake on the Creole Crawfish Crab Cake pasta was good (but not the pasta); good portion of the catfish & shrimp.
