Cracker Barrel Old Country Store

Me and my friend decided to have breakfast at the Cracker Barrel in Hattiesburg for the first time. We get to the hostess stand with three people in line and no one at the stand. We are waiting over five minutes and even noticed two managers standing at the entrance to the kitchen, engaging in a conversation. finally, a lady appears from out of the restaurant. loudly complaining about how unorganized the restaurant was. They had too many employees to show up today, and employees who was supposed to show up did not show up. So the entire seating chart needed to be done, but that is not her job. She is not going to sit there and change the seating chart in a very rudely manner to us that had no relevance to the customers, and we should not be hearing her complain of how poorly managed the store was. We finally get set at a table. Directly in front of the two managers that were standing by the kitchen loudly complaining how “lazy” another manager was. This was happening while they were staring at the table next to us who was very loudly complaining about how cold your food was to their server. Neither one of them budged to even de-escalate the matter. We were greeted by an extremely nice server by the name of Jay. He gave us the utmost service with a very friendly attitude. He kept our drinks filled and also fixed the issue with our order coming out Ice code as well. Even though the poorly managed kitchen just microwaved the entire plate just to heat it up. Once again, the same two managers who has been there probably over an hour now still standing there gossiping not once acknowledged our issues. After we had already gotten our ticket and I paid for my ticket on the link at the bottom of the receipt. Another lady who was not even our server, came to our table and tells us about the five dollar take home dishes. And tells us if the store sells the most they get a party, but if she sells the most, she gets a prize as well. I was wondering why she would be going around to other waiters tables to take their sales away? So I decided on and attempted to order two of the meatloaf take homes. then she said oh you have already paid so you cannot purchase these deals you’re useless to us. Have a good day and rudely walks away, leaving our jaws dropped. There definitely needs to be some attention to the matter.

I like cracker barrel but almost $7 for a coke and a cup of coffee is a bit much. We ordered from the early supper/dinner menu but were charged regular price for the meal. We were there at 5pm ish. Shame on me I didn’t notice the overcharge until we got home, about 25 miles one way, so I just chalked it up to a learning experience. I will check the bill next time instead of just paying without checking. Food not as good as it used to be. Love breakfast.

Waitress was not available much. Had to wait for our appetizer after we got our entrees.

Came in to shop. My 2 yr old found a pair of boots she wanted an of course they didn't have a tag. The Management would not sell them to me. I even asked if she could use an expensive pair to ring them up she wasn't friendly whatsoever and said no.. I put everything back and will not shop there again. It's a sale item. 70 % off so why not make a sell? Ridiculous.

Our favorite country restaurant with fresh home cooking type food! I think all the servers and staff friendly! The store is also a fav & fun place to shop. Can find good & fancy deals. When we came there was a store worker name “Caleb” who was top notch wonderful at helping us! 👏

Server rushed us, within 30 seconds of sitting down she was asking for our food order and we hadnt even picked up the menu, was really rude, we didn't get our biscuits until we got our food, was given no syrup with pancakes and no butter or jam for biscuits, asked for half and half (lemonade and tea) was given only tea, she gave us our ticket in the middle of us eating and had zero manners.

Even though the line was kinda long the wait wasn’t that bad and once we were inside the staff was well mannered and the service was excellent. I even thanked the manager for the hospitality.

Chicken fingers were great. The biscuits were delicious. Service was great, too. The Manager of that place was working non-stop to make sure everything was right. He was talking to customers, checking the bathrooms, and coordinating with the workers. My hat is off to someone who does their job so well.

We love eating at CB on Saturday when Maia is working. She has gone over and above to help take care of me as a mom of a special needs adult. She noticed that I was having to cut up my son’s food before he could eat. She now does that in the kitchen before bringing it out. We both appreciate her.
