Lastvweek we had a wonderful family meeting at Crescent City with members coming in to Hattiesburg from four different continents. We ordered a buffet with southern food at the private Parrot Room. Everybody enjoyed the excellent food. Thanks manager Jessica who was very accomodating and Jory for her assistance. Ingela & Margerita.
Went for mid-week dinner. Started with fried cheese curds, they were lightly breaded for a good crisp and cheesy bite. I chose a Dark & Stormy for my cocktail. I usually go for something sweet/fruity but the vibe of the restaurant is "Subtle Sexy" so my drink had to match! It was well crafted, a nice sip to unwind after work. For my entree, I ordered the Steak Frites, medium. Tender and full of flavor! We went home full and satisfied. The waitress was very nice, attentive without smothering, and the manager was doing the rounds to make sure everyone was enjoying their meal.
Excellent food and service experience on my first visit to Crescent City Grill. They have earned their #1 restaurant ranking in Hattiesburg. They are currently running a special Crab Fest Menu with some great looking options. I chose the Puff Pastry with a side of jambalaya and was not disappointed. I will return to try out other menu options in the near future.
Really good menu selection. Seafood and more for Lunch. Mollie is a very good Server. Reasonable up-scale good. Maybe the number 1 restaurant in Hattiesburg, MS.
Have eaten here before with a big group of friends. Food and staff are great & attentive. New Orleans feel and food (almost). Menu as a big variety as long as drink selection. They’ve always handled our big group with no problems. Big portions and seasoned very well.
I have been dining at this restaurant for most of the last 20 years. But after my visit on the Sunday before Christmas of 2024, I probably won't be back. We got there after 12 noon, myself, my girlfriend and her mother. We were seated very quickly, the last positive I have to say about this trip. While it was after noon, we were only offered a brunch menu, not the full menu. The place was freezing cold, the service was stupendously slow, and the food not up to what I am used to getting here. The only good part of the service was our waiter. A young man, Spencer. Spence, as he introduced himself, was new to the restaurant and not totally familiar with everything. But he made a great effort to take care of us. Keeping our drink glasses full, and also keeping us informed about the status of our meal. I thought the prices were a bit high, but that is common in just about everything these days. Sorry Mr. St. John. Don't think I'll be back.
We went for lunch on a Sunday and ate in the bar area. The service was slow probably due to the crowd. We could not get a table in the regular dining area. I had gumbo and some salad. Others had charboiled oysters and sandwiches. The food was good.
Oh, my goodness! The food was amazing and the staff so friendly. Everyone was super friendly when we walked in the door and when I asked for recommendations, they all told me their favorites. Two ladies recommended the catfish plaquemine. Since I came to Mississippi wanting catfish, I decided to order it. Our waitress, Kyra, suggested having it over grits instead of rice. What a great recommendation! I highly recommend catfish plaquemine over grits. Amazing! Kyra was a fabulous waitress, so friendly, kind and efficient. I wish I lived closer so I could try everything on the menu. I will definitely return to Crescent City Grill any time I return to Hattiesburg. You must try it! You won’t regret it.
Shrimp and grits!!! So good, espresso martini, fabulous. Very good food, excellent service and the bar area was decorated so fabulously for Christmas!
Food was mediocre at best. Not worth the money. Nowhere near New Orleans cuisine. Atmosphere was nice.

We recently moved to the area from StLouis and have been craving the fine dining we had available in quantity. This place foots the bill in service, food, and atmosphere. They should pay their chef double or triple, whatever it takes to keep them. Everything we had from salad through dessert was perfect in seasoning, quantity, and presentation. I don’t know of any gumbo I’ve had better than theirs. Save room for the white chocolate bread pudding for dessert. Nothing like it anywhere in the world. The wait staff is first rate in friendliness and service. Ask for Rylee if you are there on a Fri/Sat/Sun evening. She will take care of you!
