I was very confused as my GPS lead me to Leatha’s. It was not at all where I remembered it being. Sure enough they moved to a new location several years ago. Luckily the food is still just as a good as I remember. Ribs fall off the bone and the sauce is perfection. Potato salad was amazing as well. Glad to see them still here, and still serving up great BBQ.

Food was terrible. Sausage tried out and discolored. Ribs were fatty and greasy. Threw $28 of food in the trash can.

I went to school at USM in the late nineties during the summers. One of our professors made sure that we went to Leatha's each year. It was absolutely unforgettable. The tiny restaurant, the plywood floors, Leatha's daughters, I guess, were the servers who never wrote a thing down but remembered everything.

It was hands down the very best barbecue ever had. I still remember those meals, and I don't even really care for barbecue.

There was also a guy singing for each table, taking requests. He sang every note of the intro, the lyrics to the songs, interludes, and post loads. Every note from beginning to end.

We went back a year later, and our server remembered us and remembered what we had ordered a year prior. I have not been back since, but if I ever go back to Mississippi I will definitely make it to Leatha's.

It looks like they have a new location that is not the little wooden home place. I hope it is all still good.

All I can say is WOW! This Petal restaurant offers outstanding meats, vegetables, and beverages. A very comfortable feeling greets you at the door and as you check out the restaurant history displayed on the walls around you. Dine in or take out Leatha's Barbeque will fill your belly and put a smile on your face. Family run businesses really set them selves apart from restaurant chains.

The food was amazing! My chicken fell off the bone and was sooo tender and good! I took over a 30min drive and I will definitely take that drive with no problem for more. The service was great and the workers were so sweet, nice and welcoming. I don’t even like bbq sauce but the sauce is PERFECT!! If they sold it in stores id definitely buy!

I have always loved Leatha's. We used to eat their regularly when we lived in Hattiesburg. I was so excited to eat there on the way to New Orleans. Despite posted hours, they were closed. No explanation why on their door or on social media. I. Still giving three stars because they are always good, but them being closed with no notification was pretty disappointing. Especially at the end of a ten hour drive.

Today my husband and I went here for lunch for the first time. I’ve always heard good things about Leatha’s so we were kinda excited. We pull to the drive though and waited but no one ever came on the speaker. So we went inside. Walking into this building it’s like the outside don’t match the inside. The outside is very Modern and updated however the inside is very outdated. The walls, tables and chairs look like an 80’s movie scene and it had this very odd old smell inside. We were kinda reluctant on ordering because there was no smell of food what so ever! Normally at a BBQ restaurant you will smell the smoke even if it’s outside! There was no good smell at all. I had a rib plate and my husband had a chicken plate. This meat was not smoked! It tasted as if it was simply baked and drenched in bbq sauce! And I hate sauce on my grilled food! Here I guess you don’t have a choice! The sauce was very watery and made the plate a complete mess! I have not been this disappointed in a bbq restaurant in a long time! Needless to say we will never return here! The food was a solid 2 out of 10!

Always Enjoy us some Leatha's and love running into people who actually have met her and the stories. Great BBQ in the state and one you have to try.And the new menu they are working on sounds amazing featuring and promoting local businesses.

The pulled pork was dry and in flavorful and the ribs were over cooked and sopping wet they didn’t even pull the membrane off the back of the ribs before cooking them and they are way over priced!
