Shrimp was a bit warmed-over and had no crunch/crisp left, so was a bit disappointing. Flavor was on point. Loved the collars.
Cornbread was so dry and crumbly that it felt like yesterday's.

I was referred to Southern Seafood by a friend. Upon my arrival the atmosphere was very nice and the staff was friendly. But the real star was the food! WOW I tasted the gumbo and almost immediately was taken back to my mother's kitchen it was just as good as hers! OMG!! It had sausage chicken shrimp and my favorite Okra! And the Roux was just right! I also purchased Cat Fish which was Cooked to perfection and not too salty which was a relief I find most of the food in Mississippi is too salty. Southern Seafood has found the right combination by keeping the flavor content up and the salt content down, Bravo! this meal gets five stars. But don't take my word for it! Run Bike Hike or Drive on down to get your meal because I won't be sharing mine!

Bought shrimp to boil 5/3/25. They are obviously last year’s shrimp and were put up frozen fresh. We boiled the but no flavor and not good. Will not recommend.

First time visiting Southern Seafood and we couldn't have been more satisfied with the freshness of the food, the flavor, the fries were on point (so crunchy), the friendly service and the cleanliness of the restaurant. The food portion was more than enough. They have severaI southern sides to choose from Drinks: I chose that Southern SWEET Tea, and it was just as I like it. This place did not disappoint and we will be back.
PS we bought fresh catfish fillets and shrimp, from their market, to cook up at home.

Well, well, well! I’ve never had a bad experience until today. I got the large seafood platter and that ground mullet was cooked knowing it was rotten and! And let me just say rotten fried ground mullet stinks so bad! And the yams was overcooked into mashed potatoes. I called and was hung up on twice!
