This is a local bar that serves house made brews on tap and burgers. They also have some guest taps and a big selection of cans and bottles. We had burgers and some of the beers. The beers were pretty good. The Mystic, a Belgian hibiscus ale, is particularly good, even if you’re someone who doesn’t like beer. The burgers were a little overcooked for my taste. The atmosphere was okay. My wife thought the place was a little too small for the volume of the music. It made conversation difficult. They had a live folk singer who I’d have paid to stop singing, but the place is pretty cool overall and worth a stop if you’re in Hattiesburg.

Food took way too long and my bread on my burger was stale. Food came on a wood plank so I had to put my ketchup there. Pretty gross as it has cut marks all in it. Hope they invest in ramekins.

Had a date night at this place. They had live entertainment which consist of a guy playing the guitar and singing. He was really good.Server was always on top of things and making sure we were good, even with them being slammed. The food was really good. Love the burger I got with the fried egg on it. Was a weird name like hair of the dog or something like that, but it was awesome. They have craft beers here that some are available in cans to bring home. We had a flight of beers. They were all really good, especially the one with a coffee smell and slight taste. My wife and I just got married and been looking for date night places. This will definitely be one of our normal places to go

Hard to find a brewery that serves beer and has a wide variety of liquor to choose from. The food was really great as well. I will definitely return.

Inattentive service like they didn't wanna be there. Dry chicken & waffles was so bad I was done after 2 bites. No real reason to go back.Lovely place, though. It's a shame.

Went for the saturday breakfast. The food we had was GREAT!!!.... the problem was that they were out of a LOT of things. No ham, no sausage, no biscuits, etc.... kinda staples for a breakfast. We will go back and try again. Service was phenomenal!!!!

It's an ok place nothing to jump up and down over. Don't have high hopes for a gourmet meal.

I 2.

Out of the beer I drink. The beer cheese sauce that came with the pretzel was disgusting and oily. You can see by the picture as I poured the oil on the plate. It was a broken sauce and they should find a different sauce because this one definitely does not work. The pretzels were delicious, service was fast, and staff were all very friendly. I will go back and give them another shot but if they still have that same beer cheese sauce that'll be the last time I visit.

Hate to be the outlier reviewer on The Porter but we just didn't have a good experience. Sought it out because of the good reviews and it might be the best bar/brewery in Hattiesburg, just it wasn't for us. Drove from Laurel for a draft West Coast IPA as they had a few on their www site. Turns out our first two choices from their selection were NOT AVAILABLE! Bummer, so we settled for a canned House of Coral IPA which was good, but canned. Menu is bar food centric and ultra carnivorous, had the "vegan" Pretzel which wasn't bad. Highlight of the evening was Dahlia our server that entertained us with samples of other choices and explanations of why they were out of the things we came for! She was great.
