Betty's Place | Soul Food Reviews
Very nice people and good food prepared with love and served with a smile.
Betty’s is solid.
Today the special was turkey necks. We had fried chicken, ribs, chicken tenders and a catfish sandwich.
The ribs were good, Smokey but not fall off the bone (in a good way).
The fried chicken was hot, fresh and crispy!
The catfish sandwich was on white bread. Ask for it on a bun.
Good chicken tenders. Good tea. Friendly service.
It’s not fast food. It’s good food.
We were passing thru the city of Indianola and stayed over night at the Willie’s Last Resort in our RV. We wanted to eat local food and saw Betty’s Place was with-in walking distance. Brought the food back to the RV to eat since we have a puppy. Great choice!!! Food was delicious! Folks were very friendly! Highly recommend!!!

Betty’s Place | Soul Food is a highly praised barbecue restaurant located in the Delta, known for its excellent customer service and delicious food. Many visitors appreciate the friendly and welcoming atmosphere, with staff who are eager to help and engage with guests. The rib tip plate is a standout dish, often described as cooked to perfection, and pairs well with sides like baked beans and spaghetti. While some diners enjoyed the rib tips and fried catfish, a few had mixed feelings about the pulled pork sandwich, noting it lacked freshness.
The restaurant offers generous portions at reasonable prices, making it a favorite among locals and visitors alike. Highlights from the menu include the fried catfish, buffalo fish, and creamy coleslaw. Guests can also enjoy unique drinks like the famous mud water, a mix of sweet tea and lemonade. Betty’s Place has a charming touch, allowing customers to write their names on a wall, and is conveniently located near the BB King museum.
Overall, Betty’s Place is regarded as a must-visit spot for soul food lovers, with many guests expressing their intent to return and try more items from the menu.
