We came to Elvies for breakfast and immediately fell in love! Since then, it’s become our go-to spot for brunch, cocktails, and a great meal. Would definitely recommend coming here 🫱🏼🫲🏽💗
Perhaps the best dining experience I've ever had in Mississippi! Service was impeccable, food presentation was great, in an intimate and inviting space. 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟
We had the smash burger and Dutch baby- absolutely amazing! Fantastic food, great service, and lovely atmosphere. Highly highly recommend and if we lived close we’d be regulars. It’s a must try for breakfast if you’re in the area!

If you're in Jackson and want a true dining experience, Elvie's has to be on your list!
While there's no shortage of great tasting food in Jackson, almost all of it leans toward the casual. Elvie's, meanwhile, is one of the few places that embraces classic culinary style, preparation and presentation.
But here's the kicker: all the flavor and history that comes with classic Southern cooking - fried fish, grits, cornbread, collard greens, etc. - has passed through the filter of classic, high cuisine. It's the best of both worlds!
The atmosphere is small and intimate. Even though you have plenty of space and aren't right on top of other diners, there's still a communal feeling. The lighting and decor amplifies the intimacy.
The drink menu is robust and there's something for everyone. Classic mixed drinks, wine by the glass or botte, and beers are all on offer. Sticking with the classics - a nice vino or martini - will complement anything on the menu.
The menu itself introduced new items regularly based on what's seasonal, but there are constant staples as well.
Starting off with the oysters or chicken liver pate will start you off on your journey exquisitely. For a main, the redfish almodine is hard to beat and the steak frites are a classic. Lately they've had a Venison & Bone Marrow 'pie' that is not to be missed. Finally cruise into the citron souffle for desert.
I should also mention that breakfast is, perhaps, their true show card. And there's literally nothing on the breakfast menu that won't make you close your eyes and smile. The grit fritters are life-changing. The classic biscuit and gravy is also beautiful. (But, again, you could - and probably should - try everything on the breakfast menu.)
Parking is easy. There's a lot behind the restaurant, but street parking is easy and plentiful.
The staff is attentive, but not fussy. They're knowledgeable regarding the menu and happy to answer any questions you have.
Oh ... and did I mention this place is a James Beard finalist.
Overall, if you care about the dining experience and are in Jackson then you have to come to Elvie's.

Well Damn, this place is all the hype and then delivered on said hype. The service before the food was top notch. Killer wine and beverage list, also quite reasonable $. Now for the food. Five spice Duck was duckin delicious. One of the best steak tartare I have had in the states, plus the bread it's served with was unbelievable. Oysters were good but those crack crackers were just that..crack. Overall, the hype totally worth it, go drop loot, be happy.

Two words: burned and no seasoning. The pancakes (sent back & still came back burned) and the syrup are the only things that are really good on the menu; the rest is bland and the cheese grits are horrible. So for the price, it's not worth it at all. Maybe dinner is better and would change my review.

Writing this review as I dream about the shrimp and grits with a green Bloody Mary. Best breakfast/brunch around! Dinner is wonderful, too!

I’ve been to Elvie’s twice for brunch and once for dinner, and every visit has been outstanding. The food is refined and full of flavor, the presentation is flawless, and the service is consistently professional. The cocktails are excellent at both brunch and dinner. The atmosphere feels upscale but comfortable, and you can tell there’s pride in every detail. Elvie’s delivers every time, and I can’t recommend it enough.

Always a great culinary expetience. Went for breakfast, they cooked a classic French omlette properly which is not easy to do without having intentionally spent a significant amount of time learning to do so.

Had an exceptional meal at the bar counter. Bartender Maddie provided excellent service. Duck fat fries are always the right choice. I had the pork two ways and that was a proper dish.

Everything here was excellent. The servers were very nice, the food was delicious and came out fast, and wasn't too expensive!
Certainly worth a stop if you are visiting Jackson or a Jackson native.
They were also doing some street painting while I was there so it will be nice to see what that once its done!
