The food is thoughtfully prepared. The menu items were pretty standard and the Everette’s weren’t anything special. But the food was very quality. I liked the fish.

First time in the area. Stopped by for dinner. I was very impressed with their tomato black garlic soup and their house salad. I wanted to play it safe my first time in since Im from a big city. But quickly realized the food was top notch 👌

The only complaint I have about this restaurant is that I specified that my guest had a shellfish allergy when I made the reservation, and this was ignored when a shellfish hor dourve was brought out to our table. This surprised and kinda disappointed me from such a reputable restaurant.
It threw me off because it was dangerous and she could have died, and I would’ve liked to know how I could’ve alerted Elvie’s any better of an allergy when I booked.
Nobody had told our lovely waitress, who spent time going thru the menu with us so we could find something she could eat. She was a great waitress and I wish I remembered her name, we had a 4 PM reservation for Dec. 30. So whoever was working then.
Our mushroom frite steak was very delicious.
My best friend liked her birthday dessert and other than the allergy, we had a great time.

We came to Elvies for breakfast and immediately fell in love! Since then, it’s become our go-to spot for brunch, cocktails, and a great meal. Would definitely recommend coming here 🫱🏼‍🫲🏽💗

We had the smash burger and Dutch baby- absolutely amazing! Fantastic food, great service, and lovely atmosphere. Highly highly recommend and if we lived close we’d be regulars. It’s a must try for breakfast if you’re in the area!

If you're in Jackson and want a true dining experience, Elvie's has to be on your list!

While there's no shortage of great tasting food in Jackson, almost all of it leans toward the casual. Elvie's, meanwhile, is one of the few places that embraces classic culinary style, preparation and presentation.

But here's the kicker: all the flavor and history that comes with classic Southern cooking - fried fish, grits, cornbread, collard greens, etc. - has passed through the filter of classic, high cuisine. It's the best of both worlds!

The atmosphere is small and intimate. Even though you have plenty of space and aren't right on top of other diners, there's still a communal feeling. The lighting and decor amplifies the intimacy.

The drink menu is robust and there's something for everyone. Classic mixed drinks, wine by the glass or botte, and beers are all on offer. Sticking with the classics - a nice vino or martini - will complement anything on the menu.

The menu itself introduced new items regularly based on what's seasonal, but there are constant staples as well.

Starting off with the oysters or chicken liver pate will start you off on your journey exquisitely. For a main, the redfish almodine is hard to beat and the steak frites are a classic. Lately they've had a Venison & Bone Marrow 'pie' that is not to be missed. Finally cruise into the citron souffle for desert.

I should also mention that breakfast is, perhaps, their true show card. And there's literally nothing on the breakfast menu that won't make you close your eyes and smile. The grit fritters are life-changing. The classic biscuit and gravy is also beautiful. (But, again, you could - and probably should - try everything on the breakfast menu.)

Parking is easy. There's a lot behind the restaurant, but street parking is easy and plentiful.

The staff is attentive, but not fussy. They're knowledgeable regarding the menu and happy to answer any questions you have.

Oh ... and did I mention this place is a James Beard finalist.

Overall, if you care about the dining experience and are in Jackson then you have to come to Elvie's.

Well Damn, this place is all the hype and then delivered on said hype. The service before the food was top notch. Killer wine and beverage list, also quite reasonable $. Now for the food. Five spice Duck was duckin delicious. One of the best steak tartare I have had in the states, plus the bread it's served with was unbelievable. Oysters were good but those crack crackers were just that..crack. Overall, the hype totally worth it, go drop loot, be happy.
