“My first visit in quite a while. I'm glad to report that it is still as good as ever. A bit crowded and noisy, but in the best restaurant in Jackson, crowds should be expected. They have a big and skilled waitstaff, so service was fast and pleasant.

I had the daily special, the catfish plate, which was excellent and a real bargain. A most pleasant experience.”

“I visited Urban Foxes yesterday morning on my way put of town and I am so happy I did. I fell in love with the atmosphere and the feel of the home this business is in. I tried an Iced coffee and a blueberry scone, that was made fresh that morning. It was delicious. Very Child, family and pet friendly as well. I highly recommend and will be back.”

“Today was the 1st time I’ve been to The Manship. We sat outside as the day was overcast and comfortable temps. The atmosphere is laid back southern elegance. Lunch menu choices made it difficult to choose. We started with the seasonal cocktail, a very Manship twist on a French 75 served frozen in a coupe and garnished with a violet. This is one I hope they make a permanent part of their menu. Perfect balance of sweet/sour and delightful on the palate. Next we shared smoked tuna dip served with what I think were fried tortillas seasoned with chili lime and saltine crackers. It rivals the best smoked tuna dip I’ve ever had from along the Atlantic. For entrees we chose small plates: Manship Woodfired Oysters served with focaccia and a special of Bbq pork belly served with Brussel Sprout slaw. I am not fond of brussel sprouts & surprisingly I loved the slaw. The oysters were beautifully served in a dish that kept them warm and not overcooked. The thick slices of bread were perfect for dipping in the butter sauce used in cooking the oysters. The pork belly was so good. Just the right amount of rub and sauce cooked to tender, melt in your mouth perfection. Our server was a total pro. I feel so bad because I didn’t write down her name. My daughter who was with me once worked as a server at a restaurant much like Manship. She was very impressed because our dishes arrived in perfect order and timing. She was knowledgeable about every item on the menu. Do yourself a favor and go eat at this wonderful establishment! We will come back!”

“Happened upon this place while in town for a soccer tourney. Wanted some seafood and boy did we get what we wanted. Hostess was funny and friendly and our server Risha was amazing. She showed us all our options, asked questions to help us decide and helped us order to our liking. Everything we ate melted in our mouths. Best seafood and meal we have had in a very long time. The general manager stopped by to chat and thank us for coming in. We hope to bring our whole team back for a team dinner. Next time we’re in town this will be our go to place for sure. Can’t say enough about The Mighty Crab, thanks for having us!!”

There was still a few tables were eating, we had a seafood gumbo bake oysters and Cajun red fish, the lease favorite dish to me was the bake oysters, not sure if they were not fresh or they over cooked, he was very mushy and I can’t taste any oysters but I think after all was good pretty good food”

“Awfulhouse consistently has barely edible sub par greasy garbage food at bargain prices. What the food lacks in quality is made up for in great customer service and fantastic coffee. The menu is beyond extremely easy to navigate.
I really wanted to eat at the nearby IHOP but refused to wait in line forever so l came here instead.
Awfulhouse is never my first choice, it's just a repetitive bad choice I keep making out of necessity. The food quality is dismal at best, but I always feel welcomed, I never leave hungry and I never feel cheated.
The working restroom is always a relief while traveling on the highway.
Highly recommend on the outstanding level of customer service alone.
l would recommend this establishment.”

“This place was so cool. I didn’t expect the interior at all. Started with drinks, I got a Singapore sling and it was TASTY! Then we tried their pork buns and chicken buns. Both were great! I got the kimchi ramen with the two spice level and it was DELICIOUS! We ended with mochi and both preferred the strawberry to green tea.”

“PJ’s coffee is far superior to Dunkin and Starbucks, and typically at least 25% less in price. All of their locations in Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama are outstanding. I travel the Gulf Coast for work and drink a ton of coffee. PJ’s is by far the best. Wish they would open a location in my hometown Gulf Breeze/ Pensacola Florida!”

The sweet potatoes were the best sweet potatoes we had ever had in our lives! The restaurant was family run and all of the ladies were beyond friendly and overly excited to hear about our travels coming from Kansas City. This is a must in the area and it was easy to access just off the highway.”

“I was visiting from Chicago my brother and his wife during spring break and one of my nephews Tracy of Smith Barber College on Hosptial Dr in Jackson, MS took us to lunch, Wednesday, March 27, 2024, to Maxine’s Old Country Kitchen. The quaint restaurant is located on Macon St. Walking through the doors the ambience beckoned us in. We were greeted by beautiful wait staff serving everything you can imagine. Beef tips, smothered liver, hamburger steaks in gravy, turkey necks, baked and fried chicken, green beans, lima beans, black-eyed peas, cabbage, okra, rice and gravy, mashed potatoes, mac and cheese, turnip and collard greens, yams, corn muffin, sweet potato pie, cinnamon roll and peach cobbler. I can say the food was ON POINT! Very delicious and I did not add salt or pepper. Seasoned very well. We really enjoyed ourselves and had food to take home for dinner. Also, there was sweet tea, lemonade and kool-aid to drink. I pray GOD continue to bless your business. A hidden gem~”
