“Lou's is what the Jackson dining scene needed. The atmosphere is warm and inviting and exudes a cozy and welcoming vibe. The staff is attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable. I recommend the brisket toast, crawfish grits, and s'mores cheesecake. The smoky brisket was generously heaped onto perfectly toasted bread. The creamy grits provided the ideal canvas for succulent crawfish, each bite bursting with flavor. The s'mores cheesecake was nothing short of a heavenly creation. It was velvety smooth, with a luscious chocolate graham cracker crust, elevated by toasted marshmallow topping. Honestly, it is probably the best cheesecake I've ever had!“
“First, the ambiance is always top tier, whether solo or with my friends; whenever solo, I'm at the bar and today was the icing on the cake....all drinks by Kate were superb and she kept my water glass full, along with her bar counterpart(Sunday Brunch) they work great together getting the job done...my southern style Benedict was DELICIOUS as well‼Kudos to them“
“Hospitality at its finest! Bob always takes excellent care of us! One of the few restaurants out there that treat you as if they are welcoming you into their home and treat you like a guest instead of a transaction! This type of dining experience is getting harder and harder to find these days! A true Jackson Mississippi staple!“
“Today I messed up. I had a very large order that I apparently had the wrong date for. The staff was very accommodating and started prepping my order anyway. When I got the correct day I then apologized for the misunderstanding and they were MORE than understanding. This is the kind of service that gets repeat customers and plus the food is AMAZING! Thank you for being kind and professional. Sincerely, CPB“
“Ordered online & it said to pick up in 15 minutes. Got there, and it was ready. I ordered beef tacos, but they advised me that they were out of them when I got there. It didn't matter. The food was good either way. Those wings were so good. I should've ordered more.“
“I ADORE SALTINE! I travel to Jackson every few months and a visit is not complete without Saltine. The oysters are amazing and perfectly prepared. The pork belly is inspired and delicious! I live in NJ, close to the beach, with lots of amazing restaurants around. But none like Saltine! They are one of a kind!“
“The people working that Friday night were all very friendly and polite. They were all very knowledgeable and explained everything. Boyfriend asked for all the flavors of margaritas and they did it. The special that night was enough to feed both of us. If we’re ever back in Jackson Mississippi, we’ll definitely be having dinner “
“This is my second time eating from this establishment. The food is always good and plentiful and the service is "feel-good" friendly! If you serve salad WITHOUT bacon bits (artificial or otherwise), you can earn better ratings from me!“
“My first time at a boil let alone eating crawfish and it was an experience that I thoroughly enjoyed. Finding this place was easy yet difficult. The GPS will take you to some museum so be sure to turn into the right area. You just walk up to the window and order. Paper towels at your table. They give you containers and tubs with your food and an empty tub for your shells. I loved it. Very filling and no frills. Tasted great!“
“Really was surprised of the top quality and taste of the food. This is a really hidden place which deserves to be known. Whether fish or chicken they were so good seasoned und so fresh. Extra points as it is a family owned restaurant where they work and own the place. Definitely deserve a try.“
“I got the catfish dinner. It came with two sides I choose macaroni and fried okra. Both of the sides were pretty good. The fish was nice and hot perfectly seasoned. Nice size portions for your money. The hush puppies were just a ball of fried bread nothing special at all. Cash only and it’s an increased price for farm raised catfish $19 or $16 for imported. Tater sauce is an extra 50 cents but it’s so very delicious.“
“Sometimes you get good advice from a hotel bartender on local places to eat around town and sometimes you get sent to a whole shit show. This time we found a winner!! We stayed at The Westin and were down at the bar grabbing drinks before we went out for dinner. He immediately, without hesitation, not only said this was the only place we should go, he also told us exactly what server we should ask for. He said that Casey was the man who we needed to see. (This was a year ago, so I hope he is still there). Arrived to a packed house but were able to slide in pretty quickly. The place is stupid cute. It's in an old diner and all of the old feel still in it. Fine dining in an old diner. Love it. I'm not into asking for servers I have never met so we just rolled the dice. Server arrives and it's none other than our man Casey. He was pretty rad I must say. He could have owned the place with all of the pride that beamed from him when he talked about the dishes. All of the food was fantastic. Menu may have changed in a year so I won't drool on about it too much. I will say this.... We had a Dry Aged Bone In Ribeye that was the special and holy shit. My wife still says it's the best steak she has ever had. Desserts were awesome! Fried pies with ice cream and a Cinnamon Roll Tiramisu. Oh my goodness! I cannot wait to come back here! '24 - 27/100“
