“i had been to amerigos a few times over the last couple years, but nothing will amount to this visit! we were with a party of about 9 or so people and had a regular night. normally i am the last one to get my food and this time it was a little behind than normal. i was never upset about it and understand the kitchen can take longer and things happen, but our server along with (i think) the manager came over multiple times letting me know it was on the way and that they were on it. my food was later than the rest of the table, but i continued to drink my wine and enjoyed the table. the manager (i suppose) came and delivered my food with the sincerest apology for any wait and offered me another glass of wine on the house. the food was nothing short of fantastic even being a little later. i have never been a stickler for things happening and things going under the table, but the way they approached the whole situation put me in awe. they had comped my meal along with the extra glass of wine, ALONG with a gift card for my next visit and i will ABSOLUTELY be back. i have never experienced in my life so much kindness from a restaurant and that sweet waiter. five stars for sure - amerigos knows how to take care of their people even when things don't always go right-- which you will never be able to expect!“

“To be fair, I've only had one dish here but it keeps me coming back! The red beans and rice is the best in the whole metro area. I'm not even a big red beans n rice fan, but that's how good this dish is. The staff are very friendly and personable. Food comes out hot and fast. Really unique mardi-gras-style atmosphere. Give it a try, you'll be glad you did.“

“I chose this restaurant purely on its names (sorry even my wife tells me I should grow up). We went on a Sunday en route to New Orleans and the place was busy. Food was good, service was excellent and the atmosphere had a family feel. The only downside was it’s a limited menu of “are you having the fish or chicken sugar”. Still it was very nice.“

“This place was awesome last night there was a big band in the main area and a second band playing in the back area. Between sets and after the band stop the dj was one of the best I have heard played a grear mix of music and kept the dance floor full i will definitely come back“

“The food is always great. But the catfish is over priced. They take a catfish filet and cut it in 3 or 4 pieces and sever it as a large catfish. I been in other states where the cost of living is much higher than Ms, I be getting 3 whole filets for the price Penn's charge!“
