“The cook was on point Saturday, March 28. The shrimp and grits got me in my feelings, I’m still tickled. They were PERFECT. The kids chicken was THE BOMB. The pasta dishes were all of that. All of the dishes were served with professionalism, joy and he presented himself like he really likes his job. The food was hot and I’m sure because he didn’t linger. Once they were up-they were out. “I'm only here in the area on internship, so one of my missions is to try as many unique places as I can. This was a delicious breakfast that did not dissappoint. I was greeted promptly and offered a seat at the bar, and while I didn't order any special drinks, the bartender was very nice and made sure I had enough water to drink.
I ordered the Broken Egg Biscuit, which was the right choice - a delicious biscuit that exceeded expectations. I highly recommend this location.“

“If you know you know! This place is a hidden gem in plain site on a main street none the less. Honey baked ham is some of the best and most popular succulently made holiday pork you will ever have the pleasure to put in your mouth. What I did not know till recently is they are open year round and have deli's in their locations. Today was my first time going to this location and definitely won't be my last. They have a large selection of sandwiches salads desserts side dishes and soups among many other things. The food was excellent. The service just as much so or more. The atmosphere was nice could use a bit of a look into taking it next level such as booths and a little more of a comfortable restaurant feel. It felt a little off in the design and set up to have fresh cut flowers on every table but all your tables and chairs have a hard wood country style diner eat and get out furniture vibe that makes it feel less comfortable than it could be but not in any way the great customer service doesn't make up for.. Rhonda who seemed to be the manager was very helpful in suggestions and selections. Troy who was the cook was very skilled and also very full of suggestions of things to try next time. Price wise they are affordable but they definitely price their food like everyone knows their name. Two combo meals was 30 dollars. All in all this is a great place to get something good to eat but be ready to pay or go cheaper by ordering a la carte.“

“To be fair, I've only had one dish here but it keeps me coming back! The red beans and rice is the best in the whole metro area. I'm not even a big red beans n rice fan, but that's how good this dish is. The staff are very friendly and personable. Food comes out hot and fast. Really unique mardi-gras-style atmosphere. “Pets, unless verified serve animals, were never supposed to be allowed in pelican (per posted signs “no pets allowed due to health dept codes”. Don Getty, prior mgr never enforced that rule jeopardizing the operation of the entire restaurant! I’ve seen monkies, chinchillas , and dozens of dogs illegally allowed in by don….. again, the health department could have closed pelican down for this!!! Don didn’t enforce any of the rules. New mgt does… we love Adrian!!!“
