The new owners have done a great job but unfortunately the service is TERRIBLE. Rude bartenders and waitstaff take forever, ignore you and act put out by having to bring you your food or get you a drink.
Every Tuesday night is fabulous! Incredible jazz with the incomparable Raphael Semmes and friends, great food, terrific service, and the ambiance you’d hope for at a good jazz club: not ostentatious-just great people loving and LISTENING to sublime music. It’s like a family reunion every week for lovers of extemporaneous creative music, lasting friendships, and good solid food served by Hershey as only she can do.
A must visit when coming to jackson. This place has been in movies, books and even songs. Hal and mal are legends

We gathered to celebrate a birthday. Party of 10. Our server Sarah ( in Walk In’s) was awesome. We enjoyed sitting outside and had drinks and snacks.

This place makes white people feel like legitimate Ying Yang Twins fans
Staff has the soft racist demeanor of a piece of cotton from 1910. Not quite Confederate, but almost there
Awesome place for music and fun!! The food great and staff is friendly and courteous. Hal & Mal’s gets my highest recommendation!!
Parking: There are other bar/restaurants in the immediate area.

Always come for St Patty's day but this was our first time coming when there was not an event. The first drink I sent back. Espresso Martini. Tasted too strong and sweet. Asked for more coffee to try to thin it out. Still couldn't drink it. I traded for a margarita.. liquor overpour again. If you want to get lit come here. If you want a drink that taste good and balanced.. meh gumbo was good fish was ok. Bathrooms we dingy

Terrible service, over-priced, dirty and the food was expensive and yet bad. The parking lot looks like a bomb went off in it. Hard to find, harder to leave. Zero stars.
This was a pleasure to find this place on a whim. Good food and friendly service. Got lucky with a nice local jazz foursome playing as well.
