This is not the same place I 1st visited 2 years ago. My 1st time eating there was wonderful but they've since moved to a new location and I don't know if they are under new management but everything was horrible. They didn't have a lot of the menu items. We never received the complimentary appetizers after asking and being told that we would, we were a party of 3 and we didn't receive our food together, one of us was told they were out of the oxtail soup and was told right before the food was being brought to the table, the food was room temperature after waiting a long period of time to receiving it and there was no accountability for the poor service received. I DONOT recommend this establishment.

We made a reservation to celebrate my wife’s birthday, but unfortunately, the experience was disappointing. When we arrived, we were surprised to find a private event happening in the same open dining area, something that was never mentioned when we booked. A large group was gathered and was giving a whole speech and we felt that we had to keep our voices down so as not to disturb their event. It made us feel like uninvited guests at someone else’s function.
When we brought up the lack of notice to one of the managers, we were met with immediate defensiveness rather than understanding or an apology. To add to the frustration, the menu wasn’t up to date. Several items we asked for were unavailable, which was never communicated beforehand either.
This could’ve been a great experience, but the lack of communication and courtesy really took away from what should have been a special night.

Went for the buffet on a Tuesday (34.99)
Definitely got my money’s worth. Would’ve been great if the dishes were labeled and the food would’ve had a lid covering it instead of foil. It felt like i was getting food at cookout and not a restaurant. Atmosphere was really nice. Ambient music playing.

The fufu texture was exactly like mashed potatoes and the egusi soup was burnt af and they put waayyyyyyy to oil in it. I called to speak to the owner/manager, but the hostess answered and wouldn’t allow me to talk to him. I explained to her that the food was burnt and she said that’s how the egusi was supposed to be. I explained to her that I’ve been going there since day one and the food never tasted like that, and she hung up in my face. I was very unsatisfied with my order and will never go there again. I felt like I wasted my money.

Was out of oxtail. When I asked the server about what was on another item she said I don’t work in the kitchen so I don’t know!! It took a long time for our food to come out. But another couple came in way after us and got their food way ahead of us. Will not be back and do not recommend!!

Mike was amazing!! He was the server/ bartender. My coworker and I ordered at the bar and he kept us entertained. I ordered the Egusi with beef and fufu, the Gambian meat pie, and the Wonjo drink. That drink was everything. The hibiscus was biscing. The restaurant was clean and the food was delicious. The meat pie was fresh. And dough had to have been made by hand. Now the egusi isn’t what I’m used to. It had much more depth than what I get back home. It had a lot of meat and the portion size was more than enough for 2 people. Please give the place a try!!

As of 5/3/25, restaurat says temporarily closed. We were able to make a reservation on the rez site so that needs to be paused. Also, Google maps routes to the Vitamin shop. It's in the plaza next to Moe's. Hope it reopens soon, though we are just traveling through Jackson. We were really looking forward to eating there. Really hate doing one star.
Restaurant is closed. Wrong location on Google maps too.
This was such a delicious meal!! I loved the gambian beef pie, it was so crisp and hearty with an incredible sweet and tangy sauce. The oxtail was rich and amazing, and the hibiscus tea was sweet and refreshing! 10/10

I took my family here to celebrate my wife’s and twin sister’s birthday. The evening did not disappoint. The food was fresh, tasty and nutritious. The portions were more than adequate. I look forward to taking them back for Sunday’s dinner.
