Out of this world experience! I wish we lived closer to come back - the best anniversary meal we’ve ever had (and we’ve had a few)! Thank you!!

We've been twice, to both the longer tasting menu and the three-course. Both were excellent and very good values for the quality of the food. Expect to spend an extended amount of time with the longer tasting menu.

What a gift to have the talent of Zacchaeus Golden in Jackson! We had a experience like none other in our state— delicious food and a welcoming atmosphere. We cannot wait to go back!

What an incredible adventure. The best dining experience in Jackson.

Dietary restrictions: The chef was incredibly considerate of dietary restrictions, to the point where he created beautiful dishes specifically for those with dietary restrictions

Disappointed in the # of courses as I paid for 8-9!

Chef Golden is the most talented chef in Jackson, hands down. It's a must try.

Paid $500 for 10 course 2 people. Only 5 Courses came out, had to ask for utensils 3x. Msg replied from Chef, “this experience is not for everyone” Jackson, MS. Read the reviews carefully before dining, the 1 star reviews are REAL!

We were charged an exorbitant amount of tax and when we questioned it, were told we would be compensated during service whether by special ingredients or drinks. That did not happen. First course was great. Each course thereafter lacked creativity and premium ingredients. We were served far fewer courses than promised. Everyone in attendance that evening was shocked at how poorly we were treated. Chef spoke badly of prior clients without prompting and had an overall terrible attitude. We have much experience in the service industry and know what to expect. It was pointless to address our disappointment with him. We were jipped. We will not return nor recommend.

The chef, chef Golden, has served us before at a different venue. He served our whole Chaîne Bailliage in Jackson, Mississippi. He did a great job. We decided to try him again at his own restaurant, Southern Soigne. Chef Golden has worked at The French Laundry, the Inn at Little Washington in Virginia, and Shaya in New Orleans. He created an excellent 5 course meal for us. He offers 5-12 courses, and you bring your own bottle. You pay an appropriate price for this creative feast. We spent New Year’s Eve at Southern Soigné. I’m not able to articulate how much we enjoyed it. It’s truly like you’re dining at a friend’s home and that friend happens to be a Michelin level chef. Each course is unique and all were packed with flavor. From a truffled grilled cheese to roasted cabbage with iberico ham shaved over it. All of the courses had a wonderful medley of tastes. None of it was unfamiliar, yet all of it was unique.I wish we lived nearby as I would eat there every month. You dine in a room with two other tables. It was a communal and convivial experience. We made new friends. Our dinner included wine but I am not sure if the regular meals do. I believe you can bring your own wine for a $25 corkage fee. This restaurant is a true gem and anyone who is remotely near Jackson should try it out.

Chef Zack is amazing. We were given 9 courses and every single one was incredible. I do not like vinaigrette and my husband doesn’t like cabbage but this was the exception for both. He even made a grill cheese that was out of this world. The experience is great as well. You are in a room with only 4 other people and the chef explains each dish himself. It is a very sociable and fun experience. We have tried many tastings and this is by far the best. Chef Zack is a local treasure who could be successful anywhere but I am glad he is local as we can continue to enjoy. We will definitely be booking again. Highly highly recommend. A great way to start off the new year.

Fantastic food ! We went for New Year’s Eve. It was a beautifully curated culinary experience. Each course was unique and flavor filled. The chef and his mother provide a great dining experience. It takes time. This isn’t a “ quick dinner” establishment. It’s a full dining event. Plan to be there several hours. The chef describes each course. Most of what he serves is local. We had everything from a truffled grilled cheese to roasted cabbage with shaved iberico ham to wet rubbed chicken wings with a garden ranch sauce. You dine in small rooms with one to two other tables. It’s a convivial atmosphere that made the meal even better. Having dined in many fine restaurants, this was a unique experience. The best combination of haute cuisine and visiting someone’s home for dinner.
