Out of town, again on business, looking for a good place to eat (and have a drink). Well, I landed on The Manship Wood Fired Kitchen. I usually sit at the bar because I'm by myself. Anyway, the bartender (Angela) is knowledgeable on bourbons (what I like). She didn't treat me like I asked stupid questions. Believe me, I asked a lot. I tried her old fashioned and Manhattan (a perfect Manhattan is what I like). Both were very good. I usually make my own at home and love them so I compare to those. They have a great bourbon/rye selection and other spirits - very extensive. I had the Fisherman's style red dish which is blacked. It comes with cauliflower. Dinner was excellent. I ordered the recommended pecan pie cobbler. I'm not a fan of cobbler. This crust is a cornbread crust. Oh my gosh. Trust me on this. (I know you don't know me from Adam to actually trust me, lol) It was amazing. If you like pecan pie and are a connoisseur of it, you will love this. I really have zero negatives about this place. Not the food or service or anything else. Everything was excellent. Visit this place if in the Jackson area. Obviously bar tenders change and so do servers but this place is worth a visit. Do it!!

I was invited to brunch for a surprise birthday party for a friend. We had a small private area, the food was delicious, we had chicken, waffles, bacon, scrambled eggs, fruit, and mimosas.

Great choice for our one night in Jackson. We had the Caesar salad with an excellent housemade dressing and we split the lasagna which was also wonderful. We do not live in Jackson, but if we did, this would be our routine visit for Italian.

With a shortage of classy dining spots in the greater Jackson area, this has been our go-to when we're in town. We stick to some basic dishes, such as salads and pizzas. I've had the Caesar while my wife has enjoyed the Cobb. Both are very good. I'm a stickler for tasty Caesar dressing--has to be creamy, garlicky and cheesy (some places taste like straight mayo or are too thin or lemony). Theirs is a good mix. I enjoyed the barbecue pizza. It was fresh and the ingredients were well-distributed. Service is always awesome here as well and the atmosphere is classy and comfortable. We've never had to wait for a seat, although I don't think we ever have anywhere else in the Jackson area, which is a welcome treat for us being from California where everywhere is a crowd and a 30-minute wait.

Everything was great except the catfish and grits. The grits were dry, and the fish was under seasoned. The pizza was amazing.

Great service and atmosphere. The oyster Po Boy was somewhat lacking though. It had a generous amount of oysters but the breading was a bit too thick and crunchy which masked the taste of the oysters.I feel like it was close enough that it may sometimes be great. But not today.Parking: Limited parking lot with a 45 minute limit.

I had a pizza at happy hour, and to be totally honest, it was the best pizza I've had in a long time. What stood out to me was the ingredients and how they were extremely fresh. From the cheese to the sauce, the topping to the crust; everything was fresh. I also had a side of grits, which were very nice, as well. I would eat here again, for sure!

2023 Food was fresh. I enjoyed my meal. I wished they had nonsmoking outside. The people that were sitting across from us was about to choke us with their cigarette smoke.2024 waitress was great, food was good. Love love the fried pecan pudding with ice cream

Excelente lugar.

My wife and I had lunch at Manship. The food was fantastic! The portion sizes were enough to take home for dinner. The most impressive thing about our visit was Brittany, our server! She knew the menu well and anticipated everything we needed. She was attentive without hovering. Ask for her to be your server, when you go!

Our server Jo gave us recommendations and we trusted him. I got the redfish, it was absolutely fantastic! The ends were crunchy and seasoned well. My husband got the chicken, it had a good taste but it wasn't favorable.
