Restaurant was highly recommended by several shop workers in downtown Laurel, so we were looking forward to trying. Service was very, very slow and food was extremely overpriced considering the smallish portion sizes. We were very disappointed and would not recommend

Spent $50+ for an average meat lasagna, house green salad, cannoli & on a Stella bottle (they ran out of it on tap!).
Got it to go & should have taken it back.
Lasagna dry, burnt but couldn't be seen for the sauce covering & NO garlic bread!
Salad was ALL stems & just enough dressing to cover 1/4 of it.
Beer was cold & the cannoli was excellent.
Was on vacation & went on a recommendation.
What I received should have been $25 max. Never going back again!!

I ordered eggplant parmigiana , hubby spaghetti w/marinara sauce
Eggplant sliced thin , stacked with cheeses and a good basil sauce. Hubby liked his entree, also . Had glaases of pino noir. Generous pours for $8.00. New server. Had a couple questions she couldn't answer but should have asked so she can know for other customers. She was very sweet.

Popular spot, so it's noisy between other patrons chatting and the music.
We had Bruschetta, Chicken Parm and Caprese Salad with grilled chicken. It's not the best Italian we've ever eaten, but it was good.
The server checked on us several times with a smile. I know she was busy, but she didn't act rushed.

Pasta should be topped with a sauce you make yourself, not store-bought. Not worth the money. They're just doing it to save time. The only tasty pizza dough is this one.
Delicious!

Ohhhh Mimmos - I really wanted to like and love your restaurant! I have an affinity towards Laurel and so desired a fun experience at your restaurant and good food. What I received was so dissatisfying to my expectations!!! We walked in for an early dinner and the place was empty. Just a few people sitting in booths. There were 2 team members whispering at the bar the whole time we were there. Our waitress, God Bless her had zero personality which had me interpreting that she did not want to be there. She would disappear often and talk to one of the cooks by the pizza oven. When I didn’t order a drink or water she looked at me like I had 3 heads. We ordered the knotted garlic bread, a house salad and the spaghetti marinara. My mom is vegan so she asked if there were any other vegetables that could be added to the spaghetti. The only option was spinach. So we tried it. The appetizer was delivered with zero panache. The waitress set a plate of breadsticks in front of us that were soaked in a stick or two of butter. Don’t get this if you are lactose intolerant, you’ll never make it home without a bathroom. The knots were great, just really really rich. I’d prefer more garlic and parm cheese on mine and less butter, but hey - it was a local novelty, so hey - let’s go with it. The salad was put together nicely, nothing special - fancy greens, tomatoes and cucumbers. The house dressing was pinkish/purple. I couldn’t tell what it was and it was so thick it didn’t coat the vegetables. It didn’t taste bad but it definitely didn’t have a rich Italian dressing flavor. And lastly the spaghetti marinara. Oh Mimmos, how can you say you’re from Italy?? Maybe you’re from a different region. We are from Northern Italy and grew up with fresh tomatoes and spicy peppers. Maybe you were out of ingredients when we visited because your red sauce tasted like you opened an old can of Campbells tomato soup. There was no depth or flavor, only the ascidic bite of unripe tomatoes. Ugh!!! How could you serve that! We had to salt and pepper and even put on our monk fruit sweetener to make the sauce palatable. The pasta in itself was cooked well, so once we added the flavors the sauce was missing, the pasta was edible. And lo and behold the spinach was cooked to perfection! When we had finished this lackluster meal we waited for the waitress to stop talking to the pizza cook before we could get our bill. I’m grateful for the cleanish restroom, but even that could have been better. Whoever put a new trash liner in didn’t put the lid on all the way and there was trash on the floor. I’ve heard how the citizens of Laurel are proud to have their downtown area making a comeback. I didn’t get any of that Laurel pride from visiting Mimmos. The best feature in the restaurant is the fountain. So I made a wish that I was going to have better dining experiences during the rest of my vacation. So far, I have.

Please to help you with your decision… don’t get the chicken picata.
We got there a little early for our reserved table. Brought friends along who had never been hoping for a great experience, but we had to wait over an hour just for our guests to get salads and appetizers, then close to an hour and 1/2 to get our food. There was no offer for discount or any explanation, just ok food way late and overpriced. I can't see myself coming back anytime soon.

Arrived at 6 p.m. on a Thursday evening. Still had plenty of seats available, ordered and waited over an hour for appetizers and a salad. Ordered a Ceasar the dressing was almost non existent and the lettuce wasnt fresh. Asked for dressing, waited on the main another twenty minutes to be informed that they had prepared the wrong meal. Got the check and they had charged two dollars for one ramekin of ceaser and two dollars for one slice of tomato that was also not fresh. Two hours and fifteen minutes later I'm looking for something to eat.
