The fried catfish, turnip greens, and hushpuppies was very good. Chicken (fried & baked) was a little dry, but we were there later in the evening. It might be better earlier in the evening
Cold food was cold. Hot food was lukewarm. You may ask yourself, why rate it 4 stars for lukewarm food? The salad area was fresh and good. The fried catfish was good. Everything seemed freshish. But, the fried chicken was WAY better than I expected. Not as good as grandma's, but really good.
This past Saturday we had lunch at Shoney's of Laurel and had a great experience. The staff was nice and attentive, we were greeted and seated as soon as we walked in. We ordered the grilled chicken dinners which come with your choice of 2 sides, as well as the soup, salad, and fruit bar. Everything tasted great (Shoney's grilled chicken is delicious...they cook it just right). The salad bar was fresh and was quickly restocked when something ran out. We really enjoyed...
