In the bustling heart of Laurel, where the air is thick with the scent of adventure and the promise of tomorrow, there lies a culinary oasis, a beacon of smoky delight known as Team JD Q's Backyard BBQ. Here, the noble pursuit of the perfect barbecue is not merely a business—it's a calling.
Upon my arrival, I was greeted by the sizzle of pork, the charring of ribs, and the harmonious blend of spices that seemed to whisper secrets of ancient recipes. The staff, a crew of the most dedicated souls, welcomed me with the warmth of a long-lost friend, ensuring that my journey through their menu would be as comfortable as it was thrilling.
The pulled pork, a masterpiece of pecan-smoked perfection, fell from the bone like the petals of a blooming flower, each bite a symphony of flavors that danced upon the palate. The potato salad and baked beans, sidekicks to the heroic meats, were crafted with a precision that spoke of an unseen, meticulous hand.
Yet, not all was without fault. The brisket, though tender, whispered tales of a spice too bold, a seasoning that dared to overshadow its brethren. And the mac-n-cheese, a dish of such potential, fell short of its destiny, a reminder that even in greatness, there is room for growth.
But let us not dwell on the minor stumbles of an otherwise magnificent feast. For the steaks, ah, the steaks! They were a revelation, seared to a turn, each bite a testament to the grill's fiery heart.
In the end, Team JD Q's Backyard BBQ stands as a monument to the tireless quest for barbecue supremacy. It is a place where the echoes of flavor linger long after the meal has ended, a place that deserves no less than four stars in the grand tapestry of dining establishments.
So, to those who seek more than just sustenance, to those who yearn for a meal steeped in the spirit of discovery, I say: venture to Team JD Q's Backyard BBQ. Your palate will thank you, and your soul will be richer for it.

$18 for a box with overseasoned fries (that still manage to not taste like much), bland baked beans, and 3 slices of sliced brisket is a bit much? the BBQ sauce isn't my flavor but to each their own I guess.

Best burger in town. Ask for grilled onions and cowboy sauce
Kinda hard to call in your order when it says the number is disconnected.
Brisket nachos, fire
We went with our Jeep group to dinner here for the first time. It was great and the people were super friendly. The steaks are awesome and so was the brisket. The mac-n-cheese could use some work but everything thing else made up for it. We will definitely go back again!
The hours listed on Google indicate that they are open, and the restaurant itself has a flashing "open" sign on the building. Yet the door is locked and the lights are off at 5:30pm on a Thursday. This is the second time we tried to stop in. There's no phone number or menu posted on the door either. Will change my rating if we can ever get in when they're actually open.

The food was delicious. I order a smoke sausage, rib plates, pulled pork nachos, and thin onion rings everything was good.

We tried Team J D Backyard BBQ today for lunch. We got 2 pulled pork sandwiches and baked beans and potato salad. We also bought a half rack of ribs. Everything was delicious. The pecan smoked ribs fell off the bone and the barbecue sauce and we had plenty was delicious. The fixings potato salad and baked beans were cooked perfectly and seasoned just right. The pulled pork was just right and we had leftovers. We will definitely be back for some more barbecue right here in our own backyard in Calhoun community laurel Mississippi. From laurel it's a short trip out 84 west. On the left across from medical center on the right. Give them a try you will love it.
