Ooo, hate to break it to you, but this might have been one of the most miserable lunches I’ve ever choked down—and I couldn’t even finish the burger. That should tell you everything.
Passing through Laurel, Mississippi, we spotted The Knight Butcher and thought, “Perfect! A butcher shop—surely the burgers will be amazing.” Ha. What naïve optimism.
We both ordered burgers, grabbed our own soft drinks out of the fridge like we were at a gas station, and then—oh, the grand presentation—a sad little paper sack was unceremoniously plopped on our table. No napkins, no plates, no condiments. Apparently, those luxuries were hidden on some mystery countertop around the corner. We only discovered that on our way out, which was probably for the best—nothing could have saved what was inside that bag.
The burgers themselves? Imagine something that was grilled… last week. Then reheated, probably in a microwave, until it reached the texture of shoe leather and the flavor of absolutely nothing. Overcooked, dry, lifeless. Honestly, calling it a “burger” feels like false advertising.
If this is what passes for lunch at a butcher shop, I can only imagine what the scraps look like.
The smells here were amazing I haven't had a chance to try their food yet but I wondered in there today and enjoyed the smell of the shop they have jerky here and fudge and you can get meat for your own BBQs
Rizzy beef jerky 🔥🔥🔥🎷🐛
pretty cool meat shop with fresh cuts, jerky etc...
Bought stuffed pork chops to grill at home and omg they were delicious!
Had a ham sandwich here for lunch. It was pricey for the small size. For the price I thought it would be huge, but was on a small roll. The ham was delicious, roll was just ok.
When I tell u this place has the best everything I mean it. When we come into town we try our best to stop by KB. Don’t miss the fudge either! Try the pistachio 🤌🏻 but don’t eat it all leave some for me😍
This time, by tried some Lamb Chirichuma burgers? Or something like that. Off the dam chain! These burgers were so juicy! I've never had an issue with Chad's meat. Lol. He's so humble, appreciative, and happy to serve you! As is the rest of his staff. Check out the picks! I added some blue cheese crumbles with swiss cheese. Texas Pete and, cracked black pepper. Placed on a charcoal grill with cherry wood smoke. Added some Ken's raspberry walnut vinegarette for dipping. The sprig of rosemary for essence. Whatta flavor party!! Gotta get a nerve up to try one of those tomahawk's!
Came to Laurel to see the charm and art museum. Luckily we brought a cooler. We stayed near the Knight Butcher Shop and happened to stop one day. We got some items that we were able to keep frozen and bring home. Tonight I fixed the first item, Bacon Meatloaf. We ate it all. It is the best meatloaf I’ve ever had. I hope the other meats are this good. Bring a cooler and shop here❣️
Extremely friendly staff and great ribeyes, based off the ones I had cut. Will definitely be back.

Great place for quality meats and even custom blends for sausages, etc.
Everyone is friendly and the brisket and burgers are awesome.
This is a must if you visit Laurel
Got some stuffed porkchops and the sausage was sour and had an old smell
CARNIVORE HEAVEN
This bastion of meat is in the heart of downtown Laurel. While primarily a butcher shop, they also serve sandwiches and burgers cooked on their outside smoker/grill.
I chose the special of the day, a rib eye burger, perfectly smokey and charred. The place is decorated with an eye to the theme, check out the toilet roll holders when you pop in.
Great sirloin burger!
