The Tackle Box is in a more rural area of Laurel, MS and has a plain look on the outside but some interesting things inside with an ambiance that almost reminds me of a German Bier Hall except they don't sell beer or bier here. This is mainly a seafood restaurant that also serves steaks, country fried steak and fried chicken. No one will leave here thinking they were overfed or undercharged. I ordered a large boiled shrimp but it was anything but large. I also had whole catfish which was overcooked. Not only are the prices a little on the high side for what you get, they try to nickel and dime you for any changes. For example, most entrees come with fries but they want to gouge you for $2.99 to swap for a baked potato. Speaking of fries, my portion of fries was meager. Cole slaw was good. Hush puppies...
