I really wanted to like this place. The person who greeted us at the door and served us was fantastic! She was friendly and very helpful. However, the food was inconsistent. Greens and black eyed peas were excellent. Creamed corn was a bit sweet for my taste. Meat loaf was good, but chicken fried steak was a little thin and the gravy could have been a bit more flavorful. Diners are served on long tables with bench seating, and I assume that couples could be dining at tables with strangers if the space was needed. There were also a few flies in the dining area as well as a few dead flies lying on the windowsill. All in all, not quite the experience I had hoped for. However, the place was filled with diners, so perhaps mine is the minority opinion.

Prices are fantastic. I felt like the prices were from the early 2000s. 950 for a plate lunch with two sides and a dessert. My only complaint is that we went in after the lunch rush and the food was not hot enough. But it was delicious and the price was right.

Our family was traveling through Laurel today and stopped by Wilson's for lunch. Our waitress Jo was such a sweetheart!! Our food was excellent as was the service. The atmosphere in Wilson's has the small town feel and makes you feel like you're a part of the community. Everyone is so friendly in Laurel! Jo was especially helpful letting me know about different places to check out in town♥️

We loved it! Visiting Laurel and just happened upon this place for bloody Mary’s and mimosas on Sunday morning.

The food was wonderful, the wait staff fantastic, and our sweet waitress even brought out a bowl of water for our little Maltipoo on her own! The only reason I’m not giving five stars is that I ordered fried shrimp poboy and my hubby ordered the fried FISH poboy, but on a hamburger bun. They brought him fried shrimp instead of double checking with our waitress that he wanted fish. If you aren’t sure, please check as the waitress put in the correct order.

03/27/25 There at 10:15 am, could not have anything fried since not ready. Pork crop was tuff and could not eat. Vegetables were either over cooked or dry. Bread pudding was ice cold and topping tasted like canned icing. Very disappointing. Staff were nice but slow service. Most were eating or on their cell phones.

Food was good but a customer brought a dog in the restaurant. Didn't appear to be a service dog. That restaurant is very small and much too small for dogs! It was a large dog. I was very disappointed.
