I had fish and sweet potatoe casserole. It was really good, service was excellent. Loved the atmosphere. Will be back next weekend.

My husband and I stopped by because we seen where they got good reviews. Well this was my first and last time eating there. My husband got a chicken sandwich he had no problem with it, even said it was good. I ordered the chicken and dumplings with fried okra and broccoli cheese casserole. I took a bite of the dumplings and they were cold, casserole was also cold. They should have given me a new plate with hot food. I was able to eat the dumplings they brought me, but broccoli was lukewarm. This was my plate they warmed up. Well, this is my opinion. Don’t go there.

I ate lunch here on Saturday August 16th. I was greeted by the bartender who said “sit anywhere”. After a few minutes a young black woman came; and, cleaned the table without saying a word. No, “hello”, “someone will be right with you”, nothing. When almost 15 minutes had passed, I went to the bartender and asked if someone was going to come take my order. A few minutes later a young brunette waitress came, with an attitude, came to take my order. Then the cook finally came inside to actually cook. While waiting on the food, another couple came in; and, sat an elevated table in front of the windows. After waiting without any service, they left. amount of time as we had to wait, they left. Don’t waist your time or money .

If you’re within a hundred miles of Laurel, don’t miss Wilson’s. Amazing southern home cooking for $10 a plate!

I recently visited Wilson's Commissary in Laurel, Mississippi, and it was a decent experience. The food was okay, not extraordinary, but the service was good. The atmosphere had a charming, down-home country feel that we really enjoyed. Overall, it was a nice trip, and I'd say it was good, not great.

This place came highly recommended.
We happened to go in just as they stopped serving lunch/started transition to dinner. So…we had a limited menu.
What we chose was good. It was just disappointing to not have the full experience.
The bartender was kind enough to make me a strawberry margarita. Unfortunately she used salt for the rim. Pretty much ruined it.

We apparently caught them between lunch and afternoon menu changes at 3:30. The waitress was snappy and quick to let us know all they were serving were po boys, sandwiches, and salads. Told us she would come back for our drink orders and decide if we wanted to order. That should have been our first clue, she definitely wasn't happy to be there and didn't really care if we ordered or not. 2 of us ordered the half shrimp po boy and 2 ordered the roast beef po boys. The roast beef didn't even resemble roast beef. It had the consistency of wet grayish cat food from a can. It looked like 4 day old mush. The shrimp poboys had 6 small shrimp and looked like they were cooked earlier in the day and then refried with 2 week old burnt grease. The fries were okay, but the po boys were unlike anything we'd ever seen or tried to eat. The waitress never checked on us and I had to get a young lady cleaning tables for a refill on tea. Maybe they were having a bad day, but I do not reccomend this restaurant.

Close to train depot. Located in old downtown . Building esthetics with brick walls are nice. Tables with window views. Atmosphere inviting, plenty of tables, with outdoor seating. Cornhole game available. The dining area is in an open space with bar area. Lunch specials 10-2 daily. Different menu in evening. Staff friendly. Food was good 0-10 rated 7.

We ate there on Saturday, August 16th at 2:45 pm; and, were greeted by the bartender who said we could sit anywhere. We decided on the second, long table to the right. After a few minutes a young black woman came; and, cleaned the remainder of the table without saying a word to us. No, “hello”, “someone will be right with you”, nothing. When almost 15 minutes had passed, I went to the bartender and asked if someone was going to wait on us. A few minutes later a young brunette waitress came and asked for our drink order. While waiting on our food, another couple came in; and, sat an elevated table in front of the windows. After waiting a similar amount of time as we had to wait, they left. Finally, our waitress she stopped flirting with the guys at the end of the bar to bring us our ticket with a total of $34.34. Paid cash but our refused to take the 34 cents so I left it as her tip. I sent a message through FB. They read it; but, refused to respond. Terrible service all away around.

Definitely a favorite lunch spot for our office! I always get the grilled chicken salad and it comes loaded with everything you could want. Jo was our server on our most recent visit, and she was very attentive and friendly. Easy to find on Central Ave in downtown Laurel and tons of parking around. Highly recommend trying this place for your next lunch!

Party of 6! The waitress messed our order up and only brought out one of our meals we ordered, then told us it would be 7 mins for my food to come out. While our family ate! We took our food to our hotel room and the fries were cold by this time and the chicken wasn’t that good! It was dry! Charged us $31.06. Very disappointing that we couldn’t eat dinner with our family we’re on vacation with!

I’ve been wanting to try this place for a while. So i was really disappointed when i finally did and the food was terrible. My salisbury steak was undercooked and the broccoli was overcooked and soggy. It’s too bad because the atmosphere was nice.
