It's so cool when a place lives up to the hype. When you walk in you are politely asked to wash your hands if you are having the buffet. The service was very friendly and attentive. The fried chicken is world class with an incredible crunch and very juicy. Sides include most southern home cooking fare and all done to perfection. An excellent value for the money, come hungry!!
I have been to the Old Country store a few times now and it doesn't disappoint, the fried chicken is still the best I have ever had along with the trimmings like collard greens, lima beans, potato salad and all other vegetables on the buffet. Drove 3 hours just to try the chicken and then 3 hours back. Did not disappoint. Crispy, flavorful skin. The meat was juicy. Ate till it almost hurt. Cornbread was a touch too dry. Love the atmosphere.
