The manager (Jaylen) and the young-lady (Tylaijah), that was on front counter, were both extremely polite, nice, kind, and very professional! They greeted me, as soon as I walked in. Jaylen, apologized to me about the incident that happened, earlier that day/today around (2’something) with a rude, unprofessional, employee! That particular employee, along with other employees was/were on front counter discussing negative things about her job. I was so shocked and flabbergasted!!! Whew!!! Nevertheless…..I was totally shocked of how RUDE and UNCONCERNED she was of me, just standing there, on front counter, waiting to order!!!! She ignored me; &, walked past me like I wasn’t there!!! OMG!!!!!!!

Today was the 15th Birthday of McAlister and the service was amazing and accommodating. From the manager to the staff (Jaylen), everyone was professional. The presentation of the club sandwich was well put together especially on a day in which everyone is ordering the same thing. The quality of the food and staff remained top notch

I had a horrible experience and I have noticed it for the last 4 months. The workers are horrible and they don’t have any customer experience. Poor management

I do not understand what has happened to McAlisters Madison. What Deli tells you, you cannot get a sandwich because they are backed up. This is a sign of mismanagment in my view. You should know your busy hours and plan accordingly. I made mention to my wIfe upon entry I hope the service has improved. This happened on a Sunday at lunch.

I would strongly recommend reconsidering before placing a catering order with this business. I recently attempted to place a medium-to-large order for my workplace and encountered a series of frustrating issues.

After my initial call, I was told they needed a card on file to process the order. Since I didn’t have my card information at the time, I said I would call back. I then tried to call back five separate times to provide my card details, but no one answered the phone. Out of concern for the order, I called again. Someone finally answered and confirmed my order, assuring me it would be ready the next day and even repeating my name back to me.

However, when I arrived to pick up the order, my name and order were nowhere in their system. The staff seemed completely unaware of my request and made me feel as though I was mistaken, prompting me to double-check that I had called the correct location. I asked them to check their phone records to confirm my calls, but they ignored my request and simply apologized for the inconvenience.

Fortunately, this order was only for a group of under 15 people. I can’t imagine the chaos if it had been for a larger event. A simple apology does not make up for such a significant oversight, especially when my responsibility was to ensure food was provided for my company. Their responsibility is to answer the phone, take orders, and deliver on their promises to customers—something they failed to do.

I am extremely disappointed in the lack of professionalism and customer service at this location. Thankfully, Chick-fil-A was able to step in at the last minute and save our meeting.

The 1-star review isn't for the staff, it's for the corporate ownership. Friday night they had either 2 or 3 employees total and were turning people away. The only orders they were doing were online orders. I placed an online order without knowing this but once I got there I saw what was happening and hear the staff turning guest away. Shame on ownership for not caring 1 iota about this location and leaving a few people to deal with the negativity of having no staff and constantly turning people away. This location was great 20 years ago but it seems like no one has cared the last decade and it's gotten horrific lately. I am not sure how it stays open. Mcallister's corporate, if you don't want to put some effort in to operating this location then leave and let another entrepreneur do something with this space to serve the local community.

We picked up our order, brought it home. We ordered the French Dip sandwich. There was nothing to dip it in. The sauce was not in the bag. The meat had so much gristle in it, you could not bite into it without everything coming out. There was absolutely no taste at all. It was the worst French dip I have ever had!

Arrived and left without ordering because we walked up to order and basically were discouraged from ordering due to a 25 minute wait time. I work in customer service and feel this could have been approached differently by apologizing that the kitchen staff was backed up and there would be extended wait times instead of ‘think twice about ordering because you’re going to wait 25 minutes”. But, we still decided to stay and order, so we were looking over the menu and in the meantime see two different customer go to the counter with questions or requests, one being a mother and child asking about the ‘child’s cookie’ that should have been in their meal and she was informed they are out of child’s cookies. The mom then asked if she would get a substitute of a regular cookie and the employee said no, but offered no resolution. Same situation for the other patron asking about an item and being told they were out. If a meal includes an item, and the restaurant is out, it seems only right to offer some substitute and at minimum informing patrons when they order not just shorting orders and only telling them after they return questioning why an item wasn’t provided. This led us to rethink ordering and the vibe of an impending bad experience and left, but that felt like what the employees were hoping for, so everyone came out of that on top except for whoever owns this business and is clearly not operating at full potential.

Took close to an hour to get our food. It shouldn’t take that long to make a club sandwich and a nacho basket

Aug. 1,2025 I decided to give them another try and still got a bad experience , I order the choose 2 and I asked for extra mayo and honey mustard me as from my last experienced I asked to see my food before they put it in the bag, There was no extra honey or mayo so I told them what I asked for and they took my food on the corner and just started laughing and then came back and just slap some heavy mayo on it all off the bread and I was like this how you make a sandwich and I asked for a manger and the girl said she was the manger but she was in a green shirt so I asked for the lady in the kitchen and told her I'm giving ya'll another chance to eat at they restaurant because I had a bad experienced, the last time so she tells me she don't know how to make a sandwich so I guess the kids run the restaurant, I have been a manger for 20 some years and I sale plates myself , when you dine at any restaurant you spending your money and you want everything fresh and not just slapped together cause last time them didn't make the potato right with what comes on it . I'm like a manger should know the front to the back and how to make the products you sale and get the orders right and manage there shift why everybody just up front talking and the guy that made the sandwich they all just laughed bad experience again no more I wouldn't eat there. I was afraid to eat it I gave it to some one who was hungry . Really didn't wanna give a star but had to, to post.

If I could leave a 0 for the review I would. So I have a food allergy an can not at all eat what I'm allergic to, it can do some serious damage to me. So my wife doordashed us an the kids the meal and she noticed that my food had my allergy on it (after she requested it not be plus it's even on the receipt). When she called to speak to a manager two different employees impersonate being one. Then she was informed that the manager was too busy to handle the phone. So I personally stopped by after working all day to speak to the manager myself just to inform them of what had happened. Look I understand people have bad days. But the manager was probably one of the most unprofessional people I have had to deal with sense we moved here. Could have been the age, a bad day or something who knows. That's no reason to act that rude. I mean I know a lot of different ways to deal with this situation professionally an willing to do so. This is the only time I have ever posted a bad review. With all that said, if a corporate rep. reads this I would look into this place closely. I will be reaching out to deal with this.
