My wife and I celebrated our 51st wedding anniversary. Everything was great! We had a great time, food was delicious, we were able to have a conversation without yelling over others and the atmosphere was really nice.

Our server was very personable but poorly trained We experienced a problem ... found a plastic lid in my salad as I was eating it. He brought a new salad but did not apologize. When we arrived for dinner we stood inside the front door several minutes while the hostess never acknowledged us. A Customer pointed us out to her. Also the restaurant wasn't busy when we arrived

This was my 3rd annual family (9 people) holiday dinner party. Service was fine but only 1 server. The shrimp/scallop scampi entree portion was Extremely small, one Butcher cut steak ($52) was 40% fat and another Butcher cut steak at least 60% fat. Rather than upset the family gathering, I called the restaurant manager the following day and provided my comments. While the manager was somewhat sympathetic I believe paying over $500 for this event should have warranted more than that. I doubt I'll hold another event here—they need to address their kitchen issues immediately. I have been an Open Table member for many years and this was my only bad food experience.

We had looked at the dinner menu online prior to our arrival and each of us had made an initial decision about our selection. The two for $30 menu really made us second guess our choices. We ended up ordering from the 2/$30 menu and we were disappointed. We should have stuck with our original selections. The bolognese was much too spicy for me. The menu mentioned beef bolognese but I think it was more like a spicy sausage. There was confusion about the Hwy 486 and Hwy 22 hamburgers. We will certainly come again and will be better prepared and informed about selections. The staff was very nice.

Steak house prices for sub par food and service. We were there for 2 hours with a party of 10 and not a single drink refill that I can recall. Had to repeatedly ask multiple servers for high chairs until my husband finally went searching and found some himself. Some meals were okay others weren't prepared right or didn't taste good at all. Overall the experience was a let down.

Ordered the filet medium rare, and it was the first filet I've eaten that had fatty pieces, it was hard to cut and chew. I decided not to bring it to my servers attention because of it being my sisters birthday dinner causing potential tension.

The Gathering, staff and food, are wonderful! Our deepest thanks for your service, kindness, and GREAT food this past Sunday! You helped my family by catering to us, who had a hard week with my dear brother. We wanted to gift them with your food and you went "above and beyond". When we come to visit the Madison area, I know where we will be coming for good food and great service! I wish we could give you 10 stars!

The Gathering is always a winner when it comes to food quality and atmosphere. I must say, there was a band there that night that was pretty loud and the AC was not keeping it -- up was a bit warm. However, the food more than makes up for it.

I have to give this place five stars because of the A1 customer service, they serve the customers quickly, the portions are a good size and delicious too. It was my first visit and I had a good experience. The decor at The Gathering at Livingston is nostalgic for many people because of its old southern town type feel from the tables and chairs to the porch at the entry way. I noticed that it has a nice bar also. When you enter you simply get in line and wait your turn to order at a counter where I was greeted with a smile. You can then serve yourself by getting a drink from the fountain machine. I ordered the fried chicken, macaroni and cheese and greens. Everything was delicious and served to the table quickly. I will be going back soon with family and friends. Give this spot that's off the beaten path but still hits home with southern cuisine a chance if you haven't. It has all of the positive bases covered and didn't disappoint me.

I have always loved The Gathering. It never disappoints. We had my son's rehearsal dinner party just recently. We paid for the restaurant to be closed down. Had a tasting to determine our menu. We had 63 people there that night eating filet and Mahi. The filet was so tender and cooked just right and the Mahi had a wonderful flavor. I would highly recommend just eating there or having a party like we did there. Also, I want to say that Mariah, Bowen and Keith and all the servers and bartenders were excellent to work with.

This was my third time to eat here but my wife's first. I just love this place. We both got the combination 2 catfish filets and 5 shrimp. She got the green beans and they cooked them perfectly for her. Then we split the chocolate pie. Hit my yum factor!!! So will be coming back here in the future.

Great service. Waitress was very attentive. Everyone enjoyed their dish. Nice gift shop in a converted gas station. Very old school. Will come back. My only suggestion is turn down the band, had to shout to have a conversation.

I absolutely love this place. We stumbled onto this place by accident while staying over at Providence Hill, and have made it an "every night" place every time we've been back in town on business. A very local scene (I think), and obviously a favorite for the community. The menu does change quite often, and, I guess, I would call it "trendy Southern"??? You will 100% find some kind of (always) house made pimiento cheese, some kinds of sausages, a few steak / meat options, a chicken, of course, and some kind of barbecue offering, as well as several other options that will surprise you. Everything is chef-inspired and made in house. The burger is incredible. The fried chicken variants incredible too, and the sides and add ons compliment everything perfectly. Do not forget to ask for a side of "comeback" with your fries, and if you don't know "comeback", I'm not telling you, but I strongly suggest you seek it out in your travels. If you're anywhere near Flora- Jackson, Madison, Pearl, etc, make the drive! Staff becomes family really quick. We've done table seating, bar seating, and patio seating as well. Also, worth noting, depth in the bourbon selection is always welcome, so you won't be disappointed

So delicious, recommended entirely! Fried chicken --three words, best in Mississippi! I'm sure we all know what restaurant okra tastes like . Soggy , Cold, just gross. But The Gathering at Livingston is oh my goodness, best restaurant okra I've ever eaten. My daddy ate the meatloaf and gave this answer ,"That's one of the best meatloaf I've ever eaten."Mac n cheese creamy, and sweet.cornbread sweet goodness. Kids will have a lot of fun there good restaurant for kiddos plus it's a bath bomb kingdom there. I saw an ice cream and candy shop but we were driving away when we actually saw it . They've got a really cool little store there too! Southern Hospitality is great--our waitress Joyce was super friendly .We saw a cooking school there too! If you're ever in Mississippi come here!

Server let our drinks run out every time so we had the hostess helping the inbetween times. Steak was all rare though we asked for medium. Prime rib was perfect for the other two people. Otherwise food was great and folks were friendly.
