It’s just across the street from the lake, with a front porch for sitting and enjoying a cocktail.
Inside is comfortable tables and a good bar scene.
Unique appetizers and there’s usually a special. The special is usually something special.
Sausage and cheese plate, onion rings or choices of wings or dips Are a nice starter.
Good salads and the ceasar is excellent.
Entrees are a treat. The filet is tender and cooked per your order. The redfish is great and the catfish is the thin, crispy filets that you crave.
Sides are good. Good fries, great Brussels Sprouts and other veggies.
Excellent skillet cookie.
The service is friendly. The owner is usually there to greet you and make sure your experience is enjoyed.
There nothing to complain about. Can be crowded at peak times Friday and Saturday. It’s worth the wait.

Side salad is a disgrace, bunch of lettuce and 2 cherry tomatoes, seriously add some carrots and croutons , sprinkle some cheese . Should be embarrassed to serve!!!!

My family and I visited to celebrate my Aunt's birthday. The food, the waiter and the atmosphere of the restaurant was great! We sat on the front porch of the restaurant as we awaited our party to be seated inside the restaurant. The view of the lake is breathtaking and so relaxing! I will definitely be back to visit! I ordered the stuffed catfish and it was delicious! I also ordered the fudge brownie to-go and I highly recommend both!

A good little spot that could go casual or fancy depending on your preference. I got two specials- the soup, a mushroom one that was super tasty and a baked Brie with pepper jelly, toasted walnuts and pita bread. The mermaid splash was tasty- super sweet. Overall good, I just wish there was an outdoor seating option, the weather and sunset would have been perfect for that!

I had heard that the mermaid cafe was a nice little restaurant for the Lake Caroline neighborhood where you could get a nice hamburger. I was pleasantly surprised at my culinary experience. I had some of the best red fish that I have ever had and my friend said the same about the fillet. The only thing that exceeded the food was the courtesy from the staff. Highly recommend it
