I grew up in Meridian and when I returned home, I wanted soul food I remembered when growing up. Binke's met and exceeded expectations. We arrived just as they were opening and the food was hot, fresh and delicious. Large portion sized and reasonably priced. The service was absolutely EXCELLENT! The owner previously worked with my mother and guests knew family members. šŸ’œ

I rarely leave negative reviews, but the customer service at Binke’s was very disappointing enough that it deserves to be addressed. From the moment I walked in, it felt like the staff simply didn’t want to be there. I waited several minutes before anyone acknowledged me, even though the restaurant wasn’t busy. When I was finally ready to order, my server barely spoke, didn’t smile, and acted as if taking my order was an inconvenience to him. The staff seemed more focused on chatting with others than paying attention to customers. Binke’s might have potential because of the food, but the lack of basic courtesy and attentiveness from the staff made the entire experience very unpleasant, not to mention the food price is high. Customer service should never feel like an afterthought, yet that’s exactly how it felt there and they are a black owned business so you would think they would treat their own kind nice and with respect but sadly I received nothing but rudeness. I won’t be returning.

Down home soul food. I got a lunch plate to-go; 2 pc fried chicken, mac-n-cheese, collard greens, slice of Mexican cornbread, and a 12oz sweet tea. Decent-sized portions.

I was charged $17.20...

The food was great though, best mac-n-cheese, best cornbread I've had in years. I'd be up in here all the time if they'd have a lunch special or something, knock it down to $10-12 bucks. As it is, they high!

The food is good old fashioned southern cuisine. My husband loves their chicken and dumplings. Their dining area is big, but it's noisy because there were several fans moving air around. There was no a/c when we went. Take your food "to go" and you'll be better off.

The lady at the register attitude was terrible. There were no smiles or greeting. I've been there 3 times and it was always the same. I don't recommend someone who is looking for hospitality not to go there as much money that your spending with her . There should be a very warm welcoming when you enter. But the food was good just not the service ?

I had eaten Binke’s several years ago and wanted some good home style food on the go. I did not know what they were serving or what the prices were. So I called and was told the menu is on the website and was hung up on. I looked at the website but noticed it didn’t have prices listed so I called back again to inquire about the prices. The lady who initially answered the phone did not know about the prices.. so she handed the phone to the lady I spoke with before. I did not catch her name but she was extremely rude. She started off by telling me how busy she was and wanted to know what my question was. I told her I wanted to know the prices on the plate lunches to which her response was ā€œwhat do you want? I don’t have no prices listed on a website. You’ll have to come in a see for yourselfā€ then proceeded to hang up in my face again. I was intending on stopping by there to grab lunch for me and my family but now I don’t think I’ll be going to this business. There’s more polite ways to word things.
