You can tell they’re fresh because the texture and flavor never feel dry or stale. Each cookie feels more like a dessert you’d get from a bakery than a regular cookie shop.”

“My parents and I stumbled across this place on our way home, and what a find it was. From the moment we stepped inside, we knew we were somewhere special. The exposed brick and thoughtful décor struck the perfect balance—classic and nostalgic with just the right touch of modern style. We were immediately welcomed by the sweetest hostess (I hate that I can’t remember her name—she had glasses, a beautiful smile, and the cutest dress). She greeted us with genuine warmth and hospitality that’s hard to come by these days. She led us into the main dining room and seated us at a charming table dressed in crisp white linens. The space featured more exposed brick, tasteful artwork, and just the right amount of décor. The temperature was perfect, and the tables were spaced far enough apart to create an intimate, relaxed atmosphere. Our waiter arrived promptly and was both friendly and knowledgeable. He clearly knew his craft and took the time to walk us through the specials, making sure we felt confident and excited about our choices. We ordered sweet tea, which was perfectly brewed—not overly sweet, just right. The complimentary peanut butter and crackers were something new to us, but after reading about the history behind it, we appreciated the thoughtful touch even more. Our food arrived quickly, and everything was fresh and cooked to order. We tried the spicy chicken sandwich, the cheeseburger, and a special featuring a panini with a cup of gumbo. Each entrée came with perfectly cooked homemade chips. Every bite was spot-on—truly a 10 out of 10. Even though we were full, we couldn’t resist ordering dessert—when in Rome, right? We chose the peanut butter pie and the famous Black Bottom pie. After one bite of those generously sized slices, we all paused and just looked at each other. I don’t exaggerate when I say we unanimously agreed they were the best pies we’ve ever had. What started as a plan to sample a few bites and take the rest to go ended with two completely empty plates. We consider ourselves food lovers, and I genuinely couldn’t find a single flaw in the entire experience. We live nearly three hours away and are already planning a trip back. If you’ve made it this far in my amateur review, thank you—and I truly hope you get the chance to experience this wonderful, history-filled gem for yourself.”

“Stopped on the way back from visiting our daughter at the University of Alabama and we were pleasantly surprised. Chicken was moist and the ribs were flavorful. The BBQ sauce is amazing. Great people and a fantastic hole in the wall atmosphere. Ask about field greens.”

“Best service I have ever experienced at a Chick-fil-A! My husband, 5 month old son and I were passing through on our way to Tennessee. We stopped in for dinner and to feed our little boy. We had already been on the road for about 5 hours so needless to say we were a little worn out especially with our little boy. Kasey welcomed us in and was so sweet to our little boy. I brought a bottle of breastmilk in from our ice chest and was trying to warm it with my hands. Without hesitation Kasey offered a large cup of hot water so we could warm his bottle. She was so thoughtful and it meant a lot to us. I’m not sure if she is in leadership or not, but I think she should be. With that kind of character and care towards strangers, she would do amazing teaching others to do the same. “Just ate lunch at the Punjab Palace on the Frontage Road in Meridian, MS. My son ordered the Chicken Tikka Masala, while I ordered the Butter Chicken. The location was once the Checkerboard, so it is not a new facility, but it was clean and neat. The staff were friendly and quick. The food was incredible! I mean, incredible. Best Butter Chicken I have ever had. The Naan was perfect. We will go back. Their hours are 11 am to 10 PM EVERY DAY. I can't brag enough about it. Next time I will try the Chicken Currie. I recommend the Punjab Palace for really good Northern Indian Cuisine.”

“We just had a great healthy lunch here. We are from Austin passing through town and we found this gem. The food was tasty with fresh and healthy ingredients and the owner was super friendly. My wife and I got coffees on the way out and the coffee was very good too. He even gifted our kids some cookie on the way out. Coming from Austin with its food and coffee scene it was great to find this gem on our road trip. We would definitely recommend this place.”

“My husband and I had finally went. I got a chitterlings plate with Mac and cheese and candied yams. I came for the chitterlings my plate was $40. The chitterlings was definitely tough a little disappointed, but however the sides was so delicious and my husband plate meat loaf mashed potatoes and candied yams also was delicious i definitely will go back but will not be getting no chitterlings customer service was also good everyone was super nice”

I spent two hours here last night and had one drink. It took 51 minutes for that one drink to come. Then when I asked for our check, I waited 25 minutes before finally going inside and telling the manager (who happened to be behind the bar) that we’d waited almost a half hour for our check and I’d like to pay. We got no apology but she did print off my $32 check for the single round of drinks we got in the time we wasted not being served. There were also only six people there total so it wasn’t like the place was busy.”

“It's a very nice bakery outlet. They have great deals on items. Everything is well organized, and the store is immaculate. It's a small place, but there is a lot to pick from inside, and the staff is very friendly. They speak when you enter and answer any questions, but they let you browse undisturbed. “We got the Buffet, and also ordered one steak. The steak was incredible. Tender, great portion size, and delicious. The salad bar was fresh, and well-stocked. Nothing was empty. The ham and mashed potatoes were great, and the catfish was excellent. Everyone was in-line awaiting the rolls, because they are just that good. The cinnamon rolls called out to me, but my blood-sugar held me back.. dangit.

Service:
To their credit it was very busy, and it took time to bring us our drinks and silverware. I noticed some of the salad plates, while they'd been cleaned recently, still had old food stuck to them. There was a wait for dessert dishware too. This all seemed to be because it was Sunday rush.
Overall atmosphere was family-oriented and everyone was friendly. We would visit again.”

BBQ was fine but toast was burnt, okra was very burnt and inedible and baked beans were hard (tasted warmed and uncooked). I got the impression someone was distracted.”
