Based on the reviews, San Marcos Authentic Mexican Restaurant is a family-owned restaurant in Meridian. The exterior is visually appealing with a spiral staircase and a statue of a burro. Inside, the restaurant has beautiful table tops and bar stools with Mexican artwork. The service is great, with attentive staff who hustle to serve with a smile. The food is fabulous, really good, and outstanding. Specific meals mentioned include two tacos, an enchilada with rice and beans, the best shrimp fajita nachos, chicken fajitas (#19 lunch special) served with sizzling onions and peppers, a stuffed plablano pepper and tamale (#4), and the best queso. The chips and salsa are yummy and great. A small jalapeño margarita was perfect and grande in size. The price is very reasonable. Taco Tuesdays are the best. The restaurant is a must for anyone passing through.
